One of the most significant WWE events of the year is here! This is the 16th annual Money in the Bank event featuring a men’s and women’s ladder match for a briefcase containing a future championship opportunity. This is the first time the Money in the Bank premium live event has occurred in June since 2018.
Since WrestleMania 41, Seth Rollins’ new faction has taken the Bloodline’s spot as the top group in WWE. Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed have joined Rollins. Although Rollins has been spotlighted on Monday Night Raw since WrestleMania, I find it hard to believe he enters and wins the MITB match without interference.
The Undisputed Champion John Cena is teaming with Logan Paul to take on World Champion Jey Uso and “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes. This match came together quickly, but it makes sense with the history between all of them. This is the third straight year that a big showcase multi-man match will appear at Money in the Bank.
How to Watch
This event starts at 7:00 p.m. ET and will air live on Peacock. The Countdown to Money in the Bank begins at 5:00 p.m. ET on WWE’s YouTube channel and Peacock.
Full Card and Predictions
Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Seth Rollins vs. LA Knight vs. Solo Sikoa vs. Penta vs. Andrade vs. El Grande Americano
This is one of the most unpredictable Money in the Bank matches in recent memory. Rollins won this match in 2014 and became the first wrestler to cash it in at WrestleMania. His cash-in at WrestleMania 31 is known as “the heist of the century”.
It would seem that this is Rollins’ match to lose with his recent momentum. I think CM Punk will get payback on Rollins, costing him the match. My second option is this: Rollins wins the MITB briefcase, hits Jey Uso with a curbstomp, and right before he goes for the pin, Punk appears, hits Rollins with a go-to-sleep, and Uso retains his title. That second scenario would be best to add more fire to an ongoing feud between the two, culminating with a Hell in a Cell match at Summerslam.
Since 2022, LA Knight has been one of the most popular stars in WWE. He is a two-time United States Champion, but he is ready to take the next step in his career. WWE is about big moments, and Knight winning the MITB contract on Saturday has the potential to be an all-time one. Each of the other members in this match could benefit from winning this contract, but Knight seems the most ready.
Prediction: LA Knight wins his first Money in the Bank contract.
Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Rhea Ripley vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Roxanne Perez vs. Stephanie Vaquer vs. Giulia vs. Naomi
Since losing her championship to Iyo Sky, it has seemed like only a matter of time until Rhea Ripley holds gold again. Before Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch returned, Ripley was WWE’s biggest active women’s star. Ripley has already achieved a ton quickly, and a MITB contract with her would be a perfect fit. Out of everyone in this match, she seems like the heavy favorite among the competition.
Prediction: Rhea Ripley wins the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
WWE Men’s Tag-Team Match
John Cena & Logan Paul vs. Jey Uso & Cody Rhodes
I get the reasoning, but it’s surprising that John Cena won his 17th title at WrestleMania 41 and didn’t defend it in two straight significant events. This is technically the only premium live event in which he isn’t defending his title, but he did wrestle R-Truth at Saturday Night’s Main Event in a non-title match.
Regardless of Cena’s title not being on the line, this match features four of the biggest stars in the company and has the potential to be a fantastic match. On the bright side, this match can set up the rest of the summer events with the biggest summer party: Summerslam on August 2 and 3. Also, the Clash in Paris will take place on August 31. I would be shocked if former Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes lost his second match in a row at a PLE.
Prediction: Jey Uso & Cody Rhodes beat John Cena & Logan Paul.
Women’s Intercontinental Championship Match
(C) Lyria Valkyria vs. Becky Lynch
This feud has been ongoing since the Raw after WrestleMania 41 and will add a new chapter on Saturday. Becky Lynch has achieved so much in her career, but hasn’t won the Women’s Intercontinental Championship yet. They have done a good job building up Valkyria, but Lynch losing two straight matches at a premium live event isn’t likely.
Prediction: Becky Lynch wins the women’s IC title.
