This year’s edition of the NHL Stanley Cup Final delivered plenty of drama in Game 1 as the Edmonton Oilers emerged from overtime with a 4-3 win over the Florida Panthers. On Friday night, these two teams once again square off at Rogers Place as the home team looks to take control of the series, while the visitors look to avoid falling behind two games to none.
With puck drop set for 8 p.m. EST, here are some best prop bets for Oilers vs. Panthers Game 2.
Oilers vs. Panthers prop bets
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins 1+ assists (+120)
Nugent-Hopkins has been one of the most underappreciated players in the NHL for a while now. He had a bit of a down year in the regular season with just 49 points in 78 games, his lowest point total since 2021-2022. However, he’s a consistent contributor come playoff time with 18 postseason points in 17 games. That point tally includes 13 assists, third-most among all Oilers skaters. Nugent-Hopkins logged three shots last game and didn’t register a point, but he feels like a natural bounce-back candidate here at plus odds.
Sergei Bobrovsky over 25.5 saves (-148)
If there’s one thing for certain in this matchup, the Oilers are going to play with a ton of pace. These guys don’t mess around, working to get out on the breakaway and flinging shots at the net early and often. Bobrovsky saw a staggering 48 shot attempts in Game 1, though that number does include overtime, stopping 44 of those chances. Sure, he let the game-winner slip by, but that doesn’t mean bettors with the over on saves didn’t cash. With a .912 SV% against a high-octane attack, I’m very comfortable taking Bob to record over 25.5 saves in this one.
Evander Kane over 5.5 hits (-115)
Zach Hyman may not be on the ice due to an injury suffered last round, but in the absence of the one-man wrecking crew, other Oilers are stepping up their physicality. Kane logged an absurd nine hits in Game 1, obviously a game-high, and he’s been a pest throughout this playoff run. The Panthers love to assert their dominance on the boards, but Edmonton will look to hit back at every opportunity and match their opponent’s grinding style. Kane should go over this line tonight.
