The last time they faced off, Sinner defeated Djokovic in the ATP Masters 1000 Shanghai Final in October. The last time they faced each other in a major, Sinner beat Djokovic in the Australian Open semifinals. The two have only faced each other on clay once, and that came all the way back in 2021. Djokovic won that match, but that was when he was a far superior player to Sinner. There is a chance that Sinner is a bit complacent at this point in the tournament and won’t enter this match with his full focus. Djokovic could catch him off guard and win the first or second set.
