All eight groups in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup consist of four teams. In Group C, Bayern Munich, Benfica, Boca Juniors and Auckland City will fight for the top two spots in the group to advance to the knockout stages of the tournament.
German side Bayern Munich are the favorites to advance from this group on DraftKings Sportsbook, followed by Benfica from Portugal and Argentina’s Boca Juniors. New Zealand’s Auckland City FC have the worst odds in the entire tournament to advance from their group.
Benfica To Qualify From Group (-190)
This group is a true three-horse race for two spots. Auckland City are currently second in the Northern League of New Zealand, however, I think they will struggle to avoid three heavy defeats. Bayern Munich are the clear favorites, and I think they will win the group with ease. That leaves two teams for one spot. Benfica and Boca Juniors.
I will go with the more proven team in Benfica to qualify. Even at -190 odds, they are still the best bet to qualify in this group. They finished two points behind Sporting Lisbon in the Portuguese league, and they have Champions League experience from the last three seasons.
Boca Juniors will be no pushovers though, as the Argentinian league is no joke. While it may not be at the same level as some European leagues, it is one of the best in the rest of the world. Boca Juniors are the second most successful club in Argentina history and are currently second in Group A of their league through 16 games played this season.
I will give the edge to Benfica, who on their day can beat the best teams in the world. In last season’s Champions League, they had some incredible results including a 4-0 win over Atletico Madrid and a 2-0 win over Juventus before bowing out to Barcelona in the round of 16.
I think these teams will finish exactly how the oddsmakers have their odds stacked, with Bayern winning the group followed by Benfica, Boca Juniors and Auckland City. The runner-up position could easily come down to which team beats Auckland City by more.
