The New York Mets bested the Los Angeles Dodgers in two of three contests during their last series. Now on the third leg of this one on the West Coast, these teams have split the past two contests at one game apiece. Ahead of tonight’s contest, we’re taking a look at some of the top prop bets for the night-slate nightcap.
Here’s the top prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Mets vs. Dodgers on Wednesday.
Freddie Freeman over 1.5 H + R + RBIs (-155)
This veteran first baseman is easily among the MLB’s elite, and at age 35, he’s showing no signs of slowing down. With a .369/.435/.626 slash line and 1.061 OPS, Freddie Freeman continues to produce for this Dodgers squad. He actually holds the team lead with 69 hits (yes, even more than Shohei Ohtani), while his 40 RBIs rank second behind only Teoscar Hernandez. Freeman keeps hitting like a superstar, especially against right-handers, and against a decent matchup the vet should tally at least two combined hits, runs, and RBI.
Griffin Canning over 2.5 walks (+135)
Mets starter Griffin Canning has played some respectable baseball this season with a 3.23 ERA, 50 strikeouts, and an 8.49 H/9. His flaw? The 29-year-old throws to the tune of a 4.25 BB/9, which elevates his WHIP to 1.40. He struggles with his control a bit, so that factor combined with the Dodgers’ near-perfect plate process (second-most walks drawn in baseball) makes for a solid bet tonight. Watch for the right-hander to walk at least three batters against a team you just don’t want to pitch to.
Pete Alonso and Francisco Lindor 1+ combined HR (+120)
Tony Gonsolin starts for the Dodgers tonight, which means the Mets’ power hitters smell blood in the water. The righty’s ERA sits at 5.23 with a 1.45 WHIP and sky-high 2.32 HR/9. That last stat is the most important one as I believe Gonsolin should be vulnerable to the long ball as usual tonight. Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso lead the Mets with 14 and 12 home runs each, so taking them to combine for at least one moonshot makes a lot of sense at plus odds given the matchup.
