15 games between 30 teams are on tap for Tuesday night. Even with a select slate of games, there’s ample opportunity to place some player props. That includes a few NRFI wagers (No Runs in the First Inning); in the blink of an eye, bettors can cash in. However, figuring out which pitchers thrive early, and which lineups struggle, is key.
Ahead of today’s MLB action, here are three NRFI bets worth placing on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Brewers at Reds NRFI (-140)
Tuesday’s top pitching matchup on paper will take place at Great American Ballpark, home of the Reds. For the visiting Brewers, Freddy Peralta will get the nod. It’s been another phenomenal season for the 28-year-old, one of baseball’s most underrated arms. The former All-Star has posted a 2.77 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 66 strikeouts over 65.0 innings of work. This season, the righty has allowed just three first inning runs over 12 starts (2.25 ERA).
On the other side, it’ll be Hunter Greene toeing the slab. Cincinnati’s fireballer has enjoyed a solid 2025 campaign, notching a 2.63 ERA and 66 strikeouts over ten starts. In addition, he’s been nothing short of automatic to begin games. Since 2024, the 25-year-old owns a 2.25 first inning ERA over 36 appearances. In comparison, the Brewers own a 75.41% NRFI rate this season, fifth-highest in baseball. With two All-Stars on the mound, there’s a decent chance these NL Central rivals start out scoreless.
Rangers at Rays NRFI (-125)
Few teams in baseball have been hotter than the Rays, winners in nine of their last 12 games. During that stretch, no opponent has scored more than four runs in any given contest. Tampa Bay will hope to continue its stellar pitching tonight with starter Drew Rasmussen. Over his last three starts, the 29-year-old has yet to allow a run. That’s bad news for Texas, baseball’s fifth-lowest scoring offense (3.40 runs per game).
The Rangers will counter Rasmussen with an outstanding arm of their own, Tyler Mahle. The oft-injured righty has enjoyed a career year, accounting for a 1.64 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 48 strikeouts through 12 starts. During those outings, Mahle has surrendered just two first inning runs (1.50 ERA). The 30-year-old, emerging as an early AL Cy Young candidate, looks absolutely unhittable right now. Even against a red-hot Rays lineup, I’d feel confident backing Texas’ veteran hurler on Tuesday.
Padres at Giants NRFI (-115)
Of all the NRFI bets on tonight’s list, this one carries the most risk. That’s due to Padres starter Ryan Bergert, making his fifth career appearance. However, San Diego’s rookie has allowed just one hit over four innings of work this season. It’s not as if the reliever will be facing Murderer’s Row tonight. During the month of May, San Francisco scored the eighth-fewest runs in baseball (106). In addition, the Giants own the league’s second-highest NRFI rate (76.67%).
Facing the Friars tonight will be Landen Roupp, who is making a name for himself in 2025. Over 11 outings, the right-hander has recorded a 3.54 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 56 strikeouts. Since May 1st, the 26-year-old owns a 1.73 ERA over five starts. San Francisco’s newest star will get to face a struggling Padres lineup tonight. Over the past two weeks, San Diego’s .200 batting average is the worst in baseball. At -115, this is an NRFI bet worth playing to end Tuesday’s MLB slate.
