Every team is in action tonight, which means there’s virtually unlimited MLB betting opportunities on the DraftKings Sportsbook. Sounds like a good time to me.
Here are a couple of my favorite picks for Tuesday’s loaded slate on the diamond.
Detroit Tigers at Chicago White Sox
Shane Smith Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+120)
There’s really no other way to say it: Shane Smith has been magnificent for the White Sox so far this season. The rookie’s selection in the Rule 5 Draft was a stroke of GM genius and Smith has the inside track on Chicago’s All-Star spot in 2025. Across 57.0 innings and 11 starts, Smith has pitched to a 2.68 ERA and a 3.67 FIP. While a .253 BABIP is unlikely to sustain all season long, the right-hander has done a decent job of limiting premium opponent contact, as evidenced by a 79th percentile barrel rate (5.7%). Smith’s also been quite good at limiting opponent contact altogether, especially in his most recent outings.
The 25-year-old’s arsenal features a devastating change-up that is garnering a 38.1% whiff rate in 2025. Overall, lead by his elite offspeed offering, Smith’s posted a 74th percentile whiff rate (28.8%) and a very promising 12.2% swinging strike rate. That’s translated into a 25.7% strikeout rate in his last seven outings, a span when Smith’s collected 39 strikeouts in 34.2 innings of work. I like to think he’ll keep the good times rolling on Tuesday in a matchup with a Tigers lineup that owns MLB’s third-highest strikeout rate over the past two weeks (26.1%).
Philadelphia Phillies at Toronto Blue Jays
Team Total: Phillies Over 4.5 Runs (-125)
This is a prop that makes sense for a lot of reasons. It’s also a prop with slightly better odds than simply taking the Phillies on the moneyline at -135, which you’re more than welcome to do, as Philadelphia has won 60.7% of its road games this season — the highest mark in all of baseball.
Bowden Francis will toe the rubber for the Blue Jays tonight, and while the right-hander did just throw five scoreless innings against the Rangers last week, Francis still owns a 6.02 FIP. That happens to be, by far, the highest figure in MLB for a pitcher with at least 50 innings thrown. Francis is also in possession of a 13th percentile expected ERA (5.14), an 11th percentile opponent expected batting average (.286) and a ninth percentile hard hit rate (48.5%). Needless to say, there’s a reason that the 29-year-old is giving up an eye-popping 2.44 opponent home runs per nine in 2025. Woof.
The Phillies have been the dictionary definition of average the past 14 days, posting a wRC+ of exactly 100. Still, this lineup claims some very dangerous bats at it should be getting one back on Tuesday in the form of Bryce Harper, who has missed the team’s last five contests after being hit by a Spencer Strider fastball. Expect Philly to put up some crooked numbers very early.
