DraftKings Fantasy Golf Picks: RBC Canadian Open Tournament Predictions, Preview

Updated:

By: Landon Silinsky

The PGA TOUR heads north of the border to Ontario, Canada this week for the RBC Canadian Open. TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley will be the host, and measures as a 7,389-yard par 70 with Bentgrass greens.

We are back to a regular full-field event this week with a 36-hole cut. Scottie Scheffler will not be teeing it up, but we will see the return of two-time Canadian Open winner Rory McIlroy. Joining him will be the likes of Ludvig Aberg, Shane Lowry, Corey Conners and last year’s winner, Robert Macintyre.

Below, I have outlined three of my favorite DraftKings plays for the week.

Sam Burns (9,300)

Don’t look now, but Sam Burns might be back. The five-time PGA TOUR winner was having a pretty miserable 2025 season up until about six weeks ago, where he finished T13 at the RBC Heritage. Since then, Burns has finishes of T5, T30, T19 and T12. The last of which was at the Memorial one week ago, where he finally showed some life with his ball-striking.

Even during this impressive run, Burns has consistently been losing strokes with his irons. That was up until last week, where he gained 1.2 strokes on approach at Muirfield Village. That’s nothing to write home about, obviously, but a step in the right direction, nonetheless. This is important to note because of how good the 28-year-old has been with his putter of late. Dating back to Harbour Town, Burns has gained 3.0, 8.1, 5.4, 7.1 and 3.4 strokes with the flat stick. If he combines his red-hot putter with his newly-found approach play, he’s going to be incredibly dangerous this week.

Burns also been extremely strong in the Great White North, having posted finishes of T4 and T10 in two of his past three starts at the RBC Canadian Open. With Rory McIlroy in the field this week, everyone gets a bit of a discount, and that’s especially true for Burns, who sits at just $9,300.

He 100% has final group equity, and can be an anchor for your balanced lineups this week if you don’t want to spend up for McIlroy.

Chris Gotterup ($8,300)

I think it’s officially time we took note of what Gotterup has been up to lately, because he’s quietly been one of the most consistent golfers on the PGA TOUR over the past two months. Gotterup has four top-18 finishes across his past six starts, while then posting an additional T28 two weeks ago at a very tough Colonial track.

During this run of form, the New Jersey native ranks No. 1 in this field in SG: Tee-to-Green, third in SG: Off-the-Tee and fifth in Total Strokes Gained. Gotterup also ranks 11th on the PGA TOUR this season in driving distance, and eighth when filtering for this field. His length will come in quite handy this week because TPC Toronto is extremely long, boasting four par 4s above 500 yards.

Gotterup picked up his first PGA TOUR win last season at the Myrtle Beach Classic, but has been incredibly inconsistent since then. It now seems that he’s found his game again, and given his skillset, he’s a massive threat to contend in this spot.

At just $8,300, he’s a very reasonable click, who likely won’t be very popular.

Ryan Fox ($7,700)

Fox is on a really nice run at the moment as well, having finished T20 and T28 across his past two starts after his breakthrough win at the Myrtle Beach Classic. His iron-play has been stellar during this stretch, having gained 4.1, 2.5 and 3.3 strokes on approach, respectively, over his past three starts.

Canada has treated the New Zealander well in the past, as Fox finished T7 at this event last year, albeit at Hamilton Golf and Country Club. Regardless, Fox ranks No. 1 in this field in SG: Tee-to-Green and third behind only Harry Hall and Hubbard in Total Strokes Gained over his past 12 rounds.

Despite all of that, DraftKings left Fox at just $7,700 this week, making it easy to fit him in any type of build.
