Luke Weaver Injury Update: Monday, 6/2/25

Yankees closer Luke Weaver is expected to go on the IL after injuring his hamstring, per ESPN’s Jeff Passan. The injury occurred on Sunday when warming up, and it is now expected to sideline him for up to six weeks. Weaver underwent an MRI on the hamstring, and according to Passan the full timetable of the injury will be known on Tuesday.

Weaver is one of the best closers in the game, and will definitely be a big miss for the Yankees. He has eight saves out of nine opportunities this season, and has appeared in 24 games. His ERA is 1.05 this season, and he has only given up 11 hits and three runs in 25.2 innings pitched.
