The Oklahoma City Thunder’s quick win in the Western Conference Finals means that there’s no NBA on the docket for tonight. Basketball fans’ attention can turn to the WNBA, which has a five-game slate of action-packed hoops as its expanded season gets underway. I went to my first-ever WNBA game last night at Barclays Center, and I have to say, I’m sold.
With 10 of the league’s 13 teams in action, there should be plenty of stars in action. Here are two guards and two forwards who I’m targeting for tonight’s contest.

Kelsey Plum, Los Angeles Sparks at Las Vegas Aces, $10,900 – It’s been a transitional year for the two-time champion Aces, who traded Plum before the season. Plum, now the number one option on a team for the first time, has made the most of her increased opportunities in Los Angeles, averaging 25.2 points, 5.5 assists, and 2.7 steals (41.8 FPTS) per game while making 43.4% of her threes. It’s a dream situation: she ranks fourth in usage rate among players who have totaled at least 100 minutes this season, and Las Vegas has allowed the fourth-most points and third-most assists this season.

Lexie Hull, Indiana Fever vs. Connecticut Sun, $5,300 – Hull stepped into the starting lineup for the first time this season in last Saturday’s loss to the New York Liberty, scoring 15 points, snagging two rebounds, and recording a steal while making both of her threes (20.0 FPTS). She then saw a minutes uptick the following game to a season-high 31, enjoying a more all-around performance with nine points, four boards, two assists, and a steal (19.0 FPTS). She should continue to get plenty of playing time while Caitlin Clark ($11,900) remains out with a quadriceps strain. The Sun have also allowed the second-most points, most rebounds, and fifth-most assists and are the WNBA’s last remaining winless team.

Nneka Ogwumike, Seattle Storm vs. Atlanta Dream, $10,400 – Ogwumike had an off night in her most recent game, scoring just 11 points (25.5 FPTS) and shooting only five-for-14 from the field as the Storm lost to the Minnesota Lynx, but in the three games prior, she was incredible, including a 23-point, 18-rebound masterpiece against the Dallas Wings on May 19. While the other high-priced forwards go against some of the league’s top defenses, the Dream have the league’s sixth-worst defensive rating, and 34-year-old eight-time block champion Brittney Griner ($9,400) is no longer as good a defensive anchor as she used to be.

Leonie Fiebich, New York Liberty at Washington Mystics, $6,200 – Fiebich has become a regular starter for the champions this season after finishing second in Sixth Woman of the Year voting last season, and though her role is small — she has the lowest usage rate on the team — she is an all-around contributor. In the two-game home set against the Golden State Valkyries, Fiebich scored eight points and grabbed six rebounds (17.5 FPTS) in the first one before scoring three points, grabbing eight boards, and notching two steals (17.5 FPTS) last night. The German finished fourth in three-point percentage last season and has been accurate so far in 2025, and the Mystics have allowed the league’s second-most three-point attempts.
