Matt Olson More Than 0.5 Home Runs
Matt Olson is once again proving to be one of the best hitters in the game. Olson has a 121 OPS+ this season and ranks 15th in the MLB with 12 home runs. The Red Sox are in Atlanta for Friday night’s game, and Lucas Giolito will be on the bump. This is a matchup that should have Olson excited to hit another home run. In his career against Giolito, Olson is 7/13, and four of those seven hits have been home runs. That is good enough for career numbers of .539/.571/1.462 against the Red Sox’s right-hander. Giolito has struggled so far this season as well. He has an ERA of 5.27 and has given up six runs in two of his five starts this season. One of those games was against these Braves just two weeks ago. In that game, Olson went 3/5 with a home run off of Giolito. He should get some good pitches to hit another one against Giolito tonight.
Pete Crow-Armstrong More Than 0.5 Hits (Boosted)
Pete Crow-Armstrong has been a revelation for the Cubs this season, and DraftKings Pick6 is boosting him to get a hit in this afternoon’s game against the Reds. Instead of being 0.8x, it will be a full 1x hit if Crow-Armstrong gets a hit against Cincinnati. It has truly been a breakout year for the young Cubs outfielder. He currently ranks 2nd in the league in RBIs, 4th in total bases, 6th in home runs, and 2nd in WAR among position players. He is a legitimate candidate for the NL MVP a third of the way through the season. He has somehow been even better over the past two weeks, batting over .300 and hitting 20 RBIs in 12 games, more than anyone else in the MLB over that stretch. Crow-Armstrong should have no problem registering a hit today to cash this boosted pick.
Jose Ramirez More Than 0.5 RBIs
Jose Ramirez has been one of the most reliable players in baseball over the past decade. He consistently is among the best power hitters in baseball every season. He is not only hitting for power this season, but also showing great discipline at the plate. Ramirez is currently batting .318 this season, which would be his best batting average in a season since 2017 if he maintains that pace. Ramirez has also been great in his career against the Angels’ starter today, Jose Soriano. In his career against Soriano, Ramirez is 4/10, and three of those hits have been home runs. He has mashed off of Soriano in the past and should be able to drive in a run for the Guardians tonight. These teams faced off earlier this season with Soriano on the mound, and Jose Ramirez had one of the best games of his career. Ramirez hit three home runs in that game, two coming off of Soriano. The Guardians put up five runs on Soriano in that game and should have another productive game against him tonight, led by Ramirez.
Elly De La Cruz More Than 8.5 Batter Fantasy Points
Elly De La Cruz has continued to prove that he is one of the most dangerous players in baseball in just his second full MLB season. De La Cruz showed what he was capable of after getting called up in 2023, then led the league in stolen bases in a great 2024 campaign. De La Cruz still has that great speed, but has really shone with his clutch hitting. His batting average and slugging percentage are similar to what they were last season, but he has gotten hits at pivotal times with runners in scoring position. That is why he already has 40 RBIs this season, tied for the 11th-most in the MLB this season. Colin Rea is on the bump for the Cubs. His last start came in a game against the Reds, and this did not go well for him, as he gave up six runs in five innings. De La Cruz hit a three-run home run off Rea in that game, moving his career SLG to 1.077 against Rea. De La Cruz should have another big game this afternoon and get more than 8.5 fantasy points.
Dansby Swanson More Than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
Dansby Swanson and the Cubs are on fire at the moment. The Cubs’ offense leads the MLB in runs scored and total bases, and they have only gotten better in recent weeks. Swanson plays a key role in that lineup and is in line for a big game this afternoon. Swanson has a good career history against today’s Reds starter, Andrew Abbott. In his career against Abbott, Swanson is 3/7 with two doubles and a home run. The great part about being in this Cubs lineup is that if you get on base, somebody will probably drive you in. If you get a base hit, there will probably be somebody in scoring position for you to drive in. That is why Swanson should get more than 1.5 hits + runs + RBIs in this game. He should have success against Abbott and either drive in a run or score one himself once he gets on base.
Josh Bell More Than 1.5 Total Bases
It had been a massive struggle for Josh Bell at the plate this season. However, over the past week, he has started to find his groove. Over his last five games, Bell is 5/15 with two home runs and four RBIs. Bell is a switch-hitter, but he has been horrific this season against left-handed pitching, significantly hurting his season-long numbers. However, he has a 119 tOPS+ against right-handers, like tonight’s starter for Arizona, Merrill Kelly. Bell is 4/8 in his career against Kelly, with two home runs and two doubles. This is a great matchup for Bell, and even if he can’t get an extra-base hit off of Kelly, the Diamondbacks have a bullpen ERA of 5.49, the fourth-worst in baseball.
