The Thunder are looking to close out the Western Conference Finals in five games against the Timberwolves. Here are the best player props to consider for Chet Holmgren on DraftKings Sportsbook.

The Thunder are 8.5-point favorites against the Timberwolves, with an o/u of 220.5 on DraftKings Sportsbook. Here are the latest lines for Holmgren on DraftKings Sportsbook: o/u 15.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 three-pointers.

Chet Holmgren and the Thunder are looking to close out the Timberwolves at home in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals. It has been a convincing performance by the Thunder all series. After getting taken to the brink in the previous round against the Nuggets, the Thunder have asserted their dominance as the best team in the NBA this series. They comfortably won both games at home, then stole Game 4 in Minnesota to take a commanding 3-1 series lead. Holmgren has played a pivotal role in this series so far, even if it doesn’t always show up in the box score. Holmgren’s size and length are a massive deterrent to Anthony Edwards when he looks to drive to the basket. Between Holmgren, Isaiah Hartenstein and Jalen Williams, the Thunder have great size to disrupt everything the Timberwolves want to do offensively.

While Holmgren has been a really solid player for the Thunder, he hasn’t always put up big numbers. He hasn’t shot the ball particularly well from beyond the arc in this series, sporting just a 33.3% three-point shooting percentage. Against the Nuggets in the prior series, Holmgren averaged less than one made three-pointer per game. Holmgren’s rebounding numbers have also significantly dropped off from the Nuggets series to the Western Conference Finals. Against Denver, Holmgren averaged a double-double with 10.9 rebounds per game. So far in this series, Holmgren is averaging just 5.8 rebounds per game. The Thunder have been rebounding as a team rather than one player dominating on the boards.

In Game 4, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was the Thunder’s leading rebounder, while nobody on the Thunder had more than six rebounds in Game 3. Jalen Williams, Lu Dort and bench players like Isaiah Joe have stepped up on the boards as well throughout the series. Part of the reason Holmgren has been unreliable when it comes to the stat sheet is also because he has been inconsistent with his minutes played in this series. He played just 21 minutes in Game 3 but then played 33 minutes in Game 4. He also played 30 minutes or less in five out of seven games against the Nuggets.

Due to the inconsistency with his minutes and the lack of statistical production so far in this series, my favorite prop for this game is for Holmgren to have under 7.5 rebounds. Holmgren has not had over 7.5 rebounds yet this series, averaging just 5.8 boards per game. The Thunder should rotate a lot of different players in this game to try to close out this series. They know they will get this done with their defense, and fresh bodies are the key to keeping up that defensive intensity. That should lead to fewer minutes for players like Holmgren, and the team should continue to share the rebounding among the group.

Best Bet: Chet Holmgren u7.5 Rebounds (+105)
