Best Hurricanes vs. Panthers prop bets for Game 5 of the NHL Playoffs ECF

The Carolina Hurricanes fought off elimination last time out against the Florida Panthers, but they’ll be hard-pressed to do it again in tonight’s Eastern Conference Final Game 5. Still, the Canes showed plenty of heart in last game’s 3-0 shutout of the defending champions, so there’s always a chance they can capture some puck luck and take another win.

In the meantime, here’s a couple of best bets to consider on DraftKings Sportsbook for Hurricanes vs Panthers on Wednesday night.

Hurricanes vs. Panthers Game 5 best bets

Sergei Bobrovsky over 24.5 saves (-142)

The Ice Cats’ goaltender remains one of the best in the business with a .914 SV% and 2.05 GAA over 16 games this postseason. Bobrovsky won 11 of those contests, and it’s certainly worth mentioning that he survived a couple of the NHL’s top offenses across the first two rounds by downing the Tampa Bay Lightning and Toronto Maple Leafs.

Over the course of this series against the Hurricanes, Bob boasts an astounding .950 SV% and 1.25 GAA with one shutout just five goals allowed on 101 attempts. Carolina plays fast and tallied at least 25 shots in three of four contests so far, so I fully expect Bobrovsky to go over this 24.5-save line at -142 odds.

Brad Marchand over 16:30 TOI (-110)

This prop bet looks a little different than most that you’d see recommended, but with how well the Rat has played lately, I kind of love this line. The Panthers’ trade for Marchand at the deadline ruffled some feathers (fur?) among the Florida fanbase, but the move has only aged better with each passing game.

Marchand boasts 13 points in 16 games over this playoff run, tied for third-most on the team. He’s mucking things up for opponents and always seems to be in the right place at the right time. With four points this series and over 16:30 of ice time in each of his last two games, watch for Marchand to spend plenty of time out there again tonight with -110 odds on this line.
