MLB Prop Bets for Tuesday, May 27, 2025

Josh Naylor 2+ total bases +110

Naylor is currently riding a five-game hitting streak heading into tonight’s matchup against the Pirates. During that span, he’s recorded at least two bases in three of those games. Naylor has been hitting for significant power lately, with more than half of his May hits going for extra bases. He has a great chance to continue that trend tonight against Pirates starter Mike Burrows. We’ve seen very little of Burrows in the majors, as he’s pitched just 8.1 innings. From what we’ve seen, Burrows throws mostly four-seam fastballs and changeups. Naylor has shown power against both pitches since last season, with an ISO of at least .220 against each.

Texas Rangers over 2.5 runs through first five innings +114

I understand that the Rangers aren’t an offensive juggernaut, but Blue Jays starter Bowden Francis has been hit hard. Francis has allowed at least three runs in five straight starts, four of which lasted fewer than five innings. Both left- and right-handed batters have hit him hard, posting a wOBA of at least .368 against him. Francis struggles with home runs, as the 15 he’s allowed result in a 2.6 HR/9 (home runs per nine innings) this season. Among all pitchers with at least 50 innings pitched this season, his 2.6 HR/9 is the highest in MLB. Despite the Rangers’ subpar offensive stats this season, they are likely to capitalize on a pitcher who relies heavily on fastballs and exceed the projected run total.

Tyler Anderson under 16.5 outs recorded -105

Anderson has been solid this season, posting a 3.60 ERA with an xERA of 3.80 through 55 innings. However, this is a tough matchup against a Yankees team that hits well against left-handed pitchers. Anderson’s arsenal primarily consists of a changeup and four-seam fastball, which together account for 70% of his pitches thrown. The Yankees have excelled against both pitches, with tonight’s expected lineup posting a .438 wOBA against four-seam fastballs and .388 against changeups. Anderson has fallen short of this outs total in his last two starts against the Dodgers and Orioles. With winds blowing out toward left field at 8–10 mph, Anderson is likely to have a short outing.

Good luck with these MLB picks tonight!
