Liberty -4 (-110)
The New York Liberty are off to a strong start in the 2025 WNBA season, with a 2-0 record heading into their matchup with the Indiana Fever on Saturday. The Liberty are fresh off a dominant 99-74 win against the Chicago Sky, a game that saw them set a franchise record with 19 made three-pointers. However, Liberty head coach Sandy Brondello knows there’s still room for improvement, especially on the offensive end.
“We’re nowhere near where we need to be on the offensive end,” Brondello said after Thursday’s win. “We’ll take the joy from winning, but we know we have to get better in certain areas.”
Natasha Cloud was instrumental in the victory, finishing with 18 points and four three-pointers, while eight players connected from deep. The Liberty will be aiming to clean up some of the rebounding issues that surfaced in their last game, where they were outrebounded 36-28 by Chicago. Indiana, coming off a tough loss to Atlanta, has the offensive firepower in Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell, but the Fever will need a stronger team defensive effort to contain New York’s deep roster.
With the Liberty’s star power, including MVP candidate Breanna Stewart, and the Fever still adjusting to their new system, New York should cover the -4 spread in this matchup.
Wings +7 (-110)
The Dallas Wings, sitting at 0-3, will be looking for their first win of the season when they visit the Atlanta Dream on Saturday afternoon. Despite a winless start, Dallas has shown signs of improvement in two of its initial matchups, and star guard Arike Ogunbowale is continuing to find her early-season rhythm, which could mean she’s due for a big game. She’s averaging 15.0 points per game but is shooting just 30.4% overall and 25.0% from deep.
Paige Bueckers has only become more comfortable as her rookie season progresses. She’s averaging 13.7 points per game and is contributing significantly with 6.7 assists and 1.7 steals, showing her potential as a key playmaker from Day 1 for the Wings. The focus for Dallas is on internal improvement.
“It’s really about just getting better day-by-day,” Wings head coach Chris Koclanes said. “We want to continue building on what we’ve done defensively, but we also need to challenge ourselves offensively.
“We’ve made great strides in defense,” he explained further. “But we also need to continue to challenge ourselves on offense. We’re looking to push the ball and improve our spacing. That’s something that will help us get easier shots and control the tempo of the game.”
Atlanta, coming off a close loss to Indiana, is led by Rhyne Howard (18.3 points per game) and Allisha Gray (17.3). The Dream have been competitive but haven’t been able to close games consistently. With the talent that Dallas possesses, this spread seems generous, and the Wings are well-positioned to cover it.
Paige Bueckers 21+ Points + Assists (-125)
Paige Bueckers has been a standout for the Dallas Wings despite their 0-3 start. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft has made an immediate impact with her passing and scoring. In her last game against Minnesota, Bueckers recorded 12 points and 10 assists, becoming the second rookie in franchise history to record a points-assists double-double.
Bueckers’ early impact as a playmaker has been especially noteworthy, with her averaging 9.0 assists per game over her last two performances.
“Paige is always looking for you. If you run the floor and get to your spot, the ball’s going to come to you,” NaLyssa Smith told DallasHoopsJournal.com. “Just learning how to move with her, finally seeing eye to eye on the court, just because we’re all fresh playing together—her passing is definitely one of her best attributes.”
Bueckers has yet to fully positively regress to her standard scoring efficiency, particularly in pick-and-roll. However, she’s still dishing out passes at a high level and based on the film, it’s only a matter of time before she begins to score at a higher level. She appears positioned to surpass 21 combined points and assists against Atlanta.
