Saturday night features a five-game DFS fantasy baseball slate, which begins at 7:05 p.m. ET. With 10 lineups of players to choose from, there are some very interesting matchups to consider attacking. Let’s take a look at the matchups and identify Saturday night’s top three MLB stacks.
In case you’re unfamiliar with the strategy, “stacking” is a term that refers to using multiple players from the same lineup, and preferably the same section of the lineup. Due to the nature of fantasy baseball scoring, multiple players from the team get points when runs are scored, allowing them to boost each other’s production in a favorable game environment and matchup. MLB stacks can be very effective because high-scoring teams usually have multiple players near the top of the overall leaderboard, especially if crushable. Creating MLB stacks allows for a positive correlation between your players’ production, and if you can find the right matchup, the increased connection can pay off in huge ways. While it is a riskier strategy, it raises the ceiling or your roster if you find the best MLB stacks on the board.
Here are my top three MLB stacks for this Saturday.

1. Los Angeles Angels

Two of the hottest teams in baseball are on the slate tonight and take the top two spots in my MLB stacks. I’m giving the Halos the nod in the top spot since they have a slightly more favorable matchup, are much more affordable and are home for their game against the Marlins. They’ll take on veteran Cal Quantrill ($6,700), who is 3-4 in his nine starts this season with a 6.37 ERA, 4.73 FIP and 1.54 WHIP. The 30-year-old Quantrill has allowed a .303 batting average and .379 wOBA on the road and a .454 wOBA to right-handed hitters.
I highlighted O’Hoppe and Ward in my top targets for the night, and both are on the strong side of the matchup against Quantrill. Neto has also been swinging a hot bat and is averaging 11.7 fantasy points per contest over his last 10 games, even though he went 0-for-4 on Friday. Neto brings power and speed potential from the leadoff spot and has served as a great spark plug to get the offense going. Schanuel is a good value from right behind him in the order, while Soler is also extremely cheap given his power potential. He hit his first homer since May 1 on Friday, but he has a history of going on heaters that make him a great fantasy play for weeks at a time.
2. Philadelphia Phillies

Both the Angels and Phillies have won eight straight games coming into their Saturday night matchups. The Phils are in Sacramento to take on JP Sears ($7,400) and the Athletics, who have dropped 10 in a row. Sears has been one of the team’s better starting pitchers but still has a 5.68 ERA, 6.55 FIP and a .416 wOBA against him at Sutter Health Park. The wind is forecast to be blowing out, so it could be a great spot for home runs, and the Phillies have plenty of power in their lineup, even if they are options you’ll have to pay up for, especially compared to the Angels.
Schwarber and Harper are both lefties facing a lefty in Sears, but both have had decent numbers in lefty-lefty matchups. Sears has been effective against lefties but hasn’t faced many since teams usually load up righties against him. Righties like Turner, Sosa and Realmuto are good plays on that side of the split, and Turner was another of my top options in my targets for Saturday. You can blend him and the Phillies’ power players with the Angels to make a combo of your MLB stacks this Saturday if that’s the way you choose to attack it.
3. Toronto Blue Jays

The Blue Jays are in Tampa to take on the Rays this weekend in one of the two divisional series included on Saturday night’s slate. On Saturday, they’ll face Shane Baz ($8,300), who has a few great starts this season but has also struggled in a few outings. He has given up nine home runs and 29 runs in 49 innings this season, giving him a 5.33 ERA and 4.85 FIP. At home, he has a 6.03 ERA and 4.32 FIP while serving up five homers in 31 1/3 innings. He gave up two homers in each of his last two starts and six over his last four outings.
Right-handed hitters have smashed six of the nine home runs Baz has allowed this season. Bichette, Guerrero and Springer could be good plays as a result while Guerrero and Bichette also come in with good momentum. Vladdy has a double and two homers over his last 10 games while producing 8.2 fantasy points per game over that stretch. I highlighted Barger as a top bargain in my top targets for the slate, while Varsho has shown big-time power upside with four homers, two doubles and a triple over his last nine games while producing 11.2 fantasy points.
