The Minnesota Timberwolves came out of the gate hot against the Oklahoma City Thunder and never looked back. They won every quarter in a wire-to-wire blowout victory, ending up 143-101 victors in Game 3.
The Minnesota stars got back on track in a major way. Anthony Edwards ($11,400, 54.75 FPTS) ran wild with 30 points, nine rebounds and six assists. The superstar guard did all that on 12-of-17 shooting. Julius Randle ($9,800, 34.5 FPTS) bounced back to score 24 points on 9-of-15 shooting. The role players found a way to hit shots again as the Wolves shot a scorching 50% from three-point range.
For the Thunder, it was a brutal night for the MVP. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander ($12,200, 26.5 FPTS) scored only 14 points on 4-of-13 shooting. He had a -32 plus-minus in the contest as the dominant Thunder got run off the floor. Perhaps the chants from the Minnesota crowd got in Shai’s head.
He wasn’t the only Thunder player having a hard night. Jalen Williams ($9,400, 20 FPTS) had 13 points on 3-of-9 shooting, which was another rough playoff night for the All-NBA guard. Chet Holmgren ($8,600, 21.75 FPTS) was held to 10 points and five rebounds without blocking a shot. Isaiah Hartenstein ($7,200, 15.5 FPTS) couldn’t get much going either with six points and six rebounds. All three will need to play better to avoid letting the Timberwolves get back in the series.
Game 4 will be played in Minnesota on Monday, with tip-off at 8:30 p.m. ET. The Oklahoma City Thunder is open as a 3.5-point favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook. They’re also -162 on the moneyline. The over/under is set at 218 points.
