Cedric Mullins More Than 0.5 RBIs
Cedric Mullins was on a bit of a cold stretch but found his rhythm over his past five games. During that five-game stretch, Mullins is batting .300 with two home runs and six RBIs. Mullins will be facing young Red Sox starter Hunter Dobbins in the first game of today’s doubleheader. Dobbins is a rookie and still finding his footing in Major League Baseball. He has been inconsistent, giving up four runs and five runs in two of his past four starts. The Orioles have been struggling, but they did manage to put up five runs last night. This lineup should have some success against Dobbins, and Mullins can keep his hot streak going and drive in a run.
Jonathan Aranda More Than 0.5 RBIs
Jonathan Aranda has been a great contributor for the Rays so far this season. The lefty is batting .306 and leads the Rays in OPS at .881. Tonight, Aranda faces Toronto’s Jose Berrios. Berrios has been incredibly inconsistent so far this season. He has an ERA of 4.19 and has given up at least two earned runs in each of his past four starts. The Rays actually faced Berrios just 11 days ago and they teed off on him. Berrios gave up five runs in that game, including a two-run home run to Jonathan Aranda. Aranda has been incredible against Berrios throughout his career. He is now 5-for-10 with three home runs against Berrios, including that one less than two weeks ago. Aranda should get some more hard hits off of Berrios in this game and drive in a run.
Jose Ramirez More Than 7.5 Batter Fantasy Points
Jose Ramirez is putting together another great season in Cleveland. He has finished top-10 in AL MVP voting in seven of the past eight years, a truly incredible feat. So far this season, he is on pace to have another such season, batting .309 with nine home runs and 25 RBIs so far this year. Ramirez has been particularly hot over the past 15 days. Over the past two weeks, he has scored the sixth-most fantasy points of any hitter in baseball. In the previous game against Detroit, Ramirez hit an RBI triple, scored a run and stole a base. He also has a great history against Tigers starter Casey Mize. He only has two career plate appearances against Mize, and both resulted in home runs. It’s hard to be better than that. Ramirez should keep his hot streak going and hit hard off of Mize, racking up more than 7.5 fantasy points.
Taylor Ward More Than 1.5 Total Bases
Taylor Ward has been on a tear over the past several weeks for the Angels. Over the past 15 days, he is tied with Rafael Devers for the most RBIs in baseball with 22. He is also tied for the most home runs in baseball over that stretch with seven. He is batting .346 over that stretch and is playing some of the best baseball of his career. Ward should be feeling good at the plate, especially tonight when facing Cal Quantrill. Ward is 5-for-9 in his career against Quantrill. Even if Ward can’t get over 1.5 total bases against Quantrill, the Marlins have a bullpen ERA of 5.09, the sixth-worst in baseball. So, Ward can either pick up an extra-base hit or a couple of singles throughout this game to get over this line.
Rafael Devers More Than 1.5 Total Bases
Along with Taylor Ward, Rafael Devers is one of the hottest hitters in baseball at the moment. Over the last 15 days, Devers is batting .429 with six home runs and 22 RBIs. His 1.383 OPS over that stretch is the best in baseball for batters with at least 35 at-bats. Devers has been unstoppable as of late, including hitting two home runs and totaling eight RBIs just last night against the Orioles. To make Devers’ confidence levels even higher, he has had great career success against Zach Eflin. In 19 career at-bats against Eflin, Devers has seven hits, including four doubles and two extra-base hits. Eflin has an ERA over 5.00 this season, and Devers should pick up at least one extra-base hit against him. Even if Devers can’t get it going against Eflin, the Orioles also have the fourth-worst bullpen ERA in baseball, so Devers will have even more chances to pick up an extra-base hit.
Cody Bellinger More Than 1.5 Total Bases
Cody Bellinger has been having a great first season with the Yankees. Bellinger was once one of the best hitters in baseball, winning the 2019 NL MVP. After that MVP season, his production dropped off a cliff and he wore out his welcome in Los Angeles. Bellinger revived his career over the past couple of seasons with the Cubs, however, and is now playing great with the Yankees this year. Cody Bellinger has been fantastic in lefty-on-lefty matchups so far this season. He has a 178 tOPS+ against left-handed pitching, compared to a tOPS+ of 80 against right-handers. Bellinger should be excited to face the left-handed Kyle Freeland today. He also has a great career history against Freeland, batting .344 in 32 career at-bats. Six of those 11 hits have gone for extra bases, so Bellinger should be able to pick up more than 1.5 total bases today in the hitter-friendly confines of Coors Field.
