Cubs vs. Reds prediction, pick for Sunday 5/25/25

The Chicago Cubs playing in the Great American Ballpark is an equation meant for excitement. They’ve delivered so far with 29 combined runs across the first two games.

Chicago’s offense has been something to behold all season. Their star outfield of Seiya Suzuki, Pete Crow-Armstrong, and Kyle Tucker has powered this lineup to new heights. And Cincinnati, though they have struggled the past few seasons, can still put runs on the board.

It’s all set up for an exciting Sunday matinee and rubber match in the series. The Cubs enter at -118 on the moneyline on DraftKings Sportsbook. The run total is set at 9. Let’s take a look at the best bets for Sunday’s game.

Pick and Prediction

Over 9 (-108)

Runs, runs, runs. That what we’ve seen so far in the series, and that’s what we will continue to see on Sunday.

For the Cubs, starting pitcher Ben Brown has had a rough go to begin the year. He’s holding a 5.44 ERA after being shelled for six runs by the Marlins in his last turn on the mound. Nick Lodolo, the Cincinnati starter, has been considerably better. But at a hitter-friendly home ballpark against the top offense in the National League, things could get ugly for him.

We’re not at peak Cincinnati heat yet, but the weather is good enough to keep the balls coasting through the air. I’m counting on plenty of runs in this one.
