The Angels host the Marlins at Angel Stadium on Friday night, as they look to stay hot after their impressive road trip. The team lost two of three in San Diego to start the trip, but then reeled off seven straight victories against the Dodgers and Athletics. One of the key contributors during their recent run has been impressive sophomore shortstop Zach Neto, so let’s take a look at my top player prop bet for him this Friday night.
The Angels are just one game under .500 after their recent winning streak and are favored at -162 on the moneyline with a game total of 9.5 combined runs.
Here’s my top Zach Neto prop bet for Friday’s matchup against Sandy Alcantara and the Marlins.
Zach Neto 3+ Hits + Runs + RBIs (+170)
Neto has a seven-game hitting streak coming into Saturday night’s matchup and has gone 12-for-31 (.387) with 10 runs scored and eight RBI during that stretch. That gives him 30 hits, runs and RBI over that stretch for an average of 4.3 per contest over that streak.
Looking back further, over his last 20 games, the 24-year-old has 25 hits, 21 runs and 13 RBI, for an average of 2.95 per game. Since returning from IL due to offseason shoulder surgery, he has 37 hits in 31 games with 27 runs and 19 RBI for 2.7 per game, and he spent some of that time at the bottom of the order instead of the top.
I especially like this prop at these odds since there are multiple paths to getting the green. Neto can hit a solo home run or the Angels can pile up runs against Sandy Alcantara. I highlighted the Angels’ favorable matchup in today’s MLB stacks. Alcantara is only 2-6 to start this season with a 7.99 ERA, 5.36 FIP and 1.61 WHIP.
With the Angels averaging 7.7 runs per game over the last week with a .300 team batting average, they should be able to post another big offensive game in their return home. That should fuel Neto to go over this prop, and at these odds, he’s a great play on Friday against Alcantara.
