After a 16-year absence, WWE is hosting its third Saturday Night’s Main Event in the last five months. The iconic show will occur on Saturday, May 24, at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida. WWE Undisputed Champion John Cena will headline this event against R-Truth.
Although this has been an untraditional build to a title match, Cena and Truth have made for entertaining television lately. Cena successfully defended his first title against Randy Orton at Backlash on May 10. It feels like the card has improved each time they have hosted Saturday Night’s Main Event.
World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso will defend his title against an unconventional but capable challenger in Logan Paul. Since the road to WrestleMania 41, Paul has stayed true to his word and, without wrestling each week, has made regular appearances on WWE TV.
Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker will take on CM Punk and Sami Zayn in a tag-team match at Saturday Night’s Main Event. This is a new chapter in the Rollins and Punk feud, but this is the first match for the “Second City Saint” since his best friend stabbed him in the back. Each chapter of this legendary rivalry has delivered, and this should be as well. Will Rollins and Breakker win their first match since joining forces with Paul Heyman?

Full Card and Predictions
Men’s Singles Match
(C) John Cena vs. R-Truth
Even though Cena is the Undisputed WWE Champion, he isn’t defending his title against Truth in this match. This matchup came out of nowhere, as it wasn’t one that was teased in the previous weeks. Truth interrupted Randy Orton at Backlash when he was about to hit Cena with a punt. But then Cena put Truth through a table at the Backlash post-show with an Attitude Adjustment.
Truth has always said that Cena is his childhood hero, so it makes sense. But a match against Cena without the championship on the line was unforeseen. This seems like a throwaway match before the Money in the Bank premium live event on June 7. Hopefully, we will see who Cena will face at the MITB PLE on Saturday. Although the title isn’t on the line, I cannot see Cena taking a pin from Truth, who hasn’t wrestled regularly lately.
Prediction: John Cena beats R-Truth.
WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match
(C) Jey Uso vs. Logan Paul
This match has had a short but entertaining and good buildup on Monday Night Raw throughout the last few weeks. With Uso’s elite high-flying ability and Paul’s unreal athleticism, this has the potential to be the best match on the card. Uso has only been the World Champion for 34 days after winning the title at WrestleMania 41, and it seems like it is too soon for the YEET era to end.
Prediction: Jey Uso defeats Logan Paul to retain his World Heavyweight Championship.
WWE Tag-Team Match
CM Punk & Sami Zayn vs. Seth Rollins & Bron Breakker
Since Punk returned to WWE in November 2023, his rivalry with Seth Rollins has begun and hasn’t stopped since. They have had a singles match, a triple threat, and will now be on opposite sides of a tag-team match this Saturday. Rollins stole Punk’s best friend, Paul Heyman, and recruited Bron Breakker to his new faction. Breakker has served as Rollins and Heyman’s enforcer throughout the last few weeks and has been a perfect fit.
Even though this new group has been on fire since they came together, Punk losing two straight matches isn’t likely. Punk lost to Rollins at WrestleMania, and unless there is more interference, it wouldn’t make sense for his losing streak to continue. With a return by the Original Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns can join forces with Punk and Zayn and help to take down Rollins’ new group. Rollins and Breakker took out Reigns at the Raw after Mania.
Prediction: CM Punk & Sami Zayn pick up the victory with the help of Roman Reigns.
Men’s Steel Cage Singles Match
Damian Priest vs. Drew McIntyre
The rivalry between McIntyre and Priest has been ongoing since April 2024 and comes to a halt when they go head-to-head inside a steel cage. McIntyre beat Rollins to win the World title at WrestleMania 40, and then Priest cashed in his MITB contract on him. Then at the Royal Rumble this year, Priest eliminated McIntyre, but the Scottish Warrior got his revenge at this year’s Mania.
This match should be a great steel cage match with two of the best, hard-hitting wrestlers in WWE. McIntyre is the bigger star in this match and could benefit a ton with a victory inside one of the most iconic structures in WWE.
