Brandon Nimmo ($3,800) collided into the wall in the second inning after chasing down a flyball. He was then taken out of the game due to a stiff neck.
Prior to exiting, Nimmo struck out in his only plate appearance.
Jeff McNeil ($3,500) was the substitue.
Nimmo has played in all but two games this season for the Mets. He’s slashing .213/.276/.399 but he’s been somewhat unlucky with a .222 BABIP. While the walk rate of 7.7% is down from the normal double-digit rate, the strikeout rate is only 18.9% and the ISO is a healthy .185. Nimmo has eight home runs, 19 runs, 27 RBI and one stolen base in 196 plate appearances.
McNeil has racked up 67 plate appearances this season and hit two home runs. The walk rate is 19.4%, strikeout rate is only 10.4% and the ISO is .208. McNeil has a career .142 ISO.
