Due to inclement weather, tonight’s contest between the Red Sox and the Orioles has been postponed. The tilt will be made-up on Friday as part of a doubleheader, with Game 1 at Fenway scheduled for 1:35 p.m. ET and Game 2 getting underway at 7:10 p.m. ET.
The expected pitching matchup for Thursday night was Lucas Giolito against Cade Povich, in a matchup of starters who haven’t quite found their groove so far in 2025. Povich sports a 5.23 ERA and a 5.84 xERA across 41.1 innings, though one of his better outings of the season did come all the way on March 31 against Boston. Povich struck out eight of the 20 batters he faced that day.
Meanwhile, Giolito’s only made four appearances after being activated from the IL mid-season. He owns an ugly 7.08 ERA. The Orioles aren’t in a great run of play at the moment — they snapped a eight-game losing streak on Wednesday — but the lineup should be able to get to the veteran RHP.
