MLB Prop Bets for Thursday, May 22, 2025
Atlanta Braves run line -0.5 through first five innings -110
The Braves look to be in a great spot tonight against Nationals starter Trevor Williams. They faced him last week and tagged him for four runs (three earned) through 4.1 innings. It’s been a growing trend for Williams, who has allowed at least three earned runs in four straight starts. His biggest issue has been left-handed batters, and tonight’s expected lineup should have at least five starting. Against lefties, Williams has a .433 wOBA with a 5.61 FIP. On the other side of the ball, AJ Smith-Shawver will make his second start against the Nationals. When he faced them, he allowed no runs through six innings and struck out six. The Nationals will also be without one of their better hitters, as Dylan Crews was recently placed on the IL due to a back injury.
Riley Greene 3+ total bases +250
This is an alternate total base prop for Greene. If you don’t want to take the alternate line, you can opt for 2+ total bases at +130. However, when I give out an alternate line, I feel strongly about it. Greene will be facing off against Guardians starter Tanner Bibee, who has poor numbers against left-handed batters. This season, he has a .352 wOBA with a 5.99 FIP and has allowed six of his 11 home runs to lefties. Greene is having a monster month, slashing .333/.410/.667 with 11 extra-base hits. Bibee throws three variations of a fastball, featuring a four-seam, cutter, and sinker. Greene has posted at least a .424 wOBA and a .173 ISO against these pitches, dating back to last season.
Cal Raleigh over 1.5 H/R/RBI -125
Raleigh has been an excellent hitter against the sinker, the main pitch from Lance McCullers Jr. Since returning from the IL, McCullers has thrown this pitch about 30% of the time in three starts. Raleigh has a massive .418 wOBA and a .267 ISO against that pitch, dating back to last season. Numerous hitters in tonight’s expected lineup for the Mariners hit this pitch well, giving Raleigh RBI and run opportunities.
Good luck with these MLB picks tonight!
