Jacob deGrom Best Prop Bet for Yankees at Rangers on Wednesday 5/21/25

The Texas Rangers are one game over .500 this season at 25-24 and face the New York Yankees tonight at 7:05 p.m. ET. The Yankees won the series’ first game last night 5-2. Texas has lost three of its previous four games.

Jacob deGrom has had a resurgence this season, with a 4-1 record and a 2.29 ERA. After only pitching nine times in his first two seasons with the Rangers, he has already matched that total this season. Here is my favorite prop bet for deGrom against the Yankees tonight.

Jacob deGrom over 6.5 Strikeouts (-115)

This season, deGrom has totaled seven and 10 strikeouts in his last two starts. He has had over 6.5 strikeouts in four of his previous six starts. You can get deGrom at -115 to hit this mark tonight against the Yankees on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Recently, deGrom has had great success against the Yankees. He has totaled seven or more strikeouts in three of his last five starts. Although the Yankees are 28-19 this season, their 22.6 percent team strikeout rate is the 10th worst in the MLB. When deGrom is healthy, he is among the best pitchers in baseball, and even at 36 years old, he has proven to be elite.

The Yankees average 10.36 strikeouts per game on the road this season, the most in the MLB. Given deGrom’s experience and recent elite stretch, backing him to record more than 6.5 strikeouts tonight is a great play. The Yankees are the favorites in this matchup at -118 on DraftKings Sportsbook, while the Rangers are -102.
