Indiana Fever vs. Atlanta Dream prediction, pick for Thursday 5/22/25

The last Indiana Fever-Atlanta Dream game was nothing short of a banger. The lead changed hands back and forth until Rhyne Howard’s free throws put the Dream up with nine seconds remaining. Two Nia Coffey stops and a rebound put the game away, and the Dream pulled one heck of an upset over the Fever. If we’re lucky, we can get a repeat on Thursday.

The Fever are 3-point favorites on the road and are at -155 on the moneyline on the DraftKings Sportsbook. The total is set at 173.5 points. Let’s look at the best bets and predictions for this contest.

Prediction for Fever vs. Dream

I hope to wish another banger into existence by saying this will be a close game. Let’s hope my powers of mental influence hold.

Another close one feels likely in this contest. The Dream’s new frontcourt is, well, a dream. Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray are one of the best bucket-getting backcourts in the league. Conversely, the Caitlin Clark-Aliyah Boston pairing works like a charm. They’re enough to carry this team while the new additions work out the kinks.

We’re headed for another tight contest here. I like the Dream covering the +3 spread at home in what may come down to the last possession once again.

Pick for Fever vs. Dream

Over 173.5 Points (-110)

On top of a close contest, I think we’re bound to see plenty of buckets in this one.

Aliyah Boston can’t contain the frontcourt duo of Brionna Jones and Brittney Griner alone. She is, however, capable of getting her own offensively. The screen action duo of Boston and Caitlin Clark should eat all night. Brittney Griner is one heck of a rim protector, but pulling up to the level of the screen with Caitlin Clark running the action is not her forte.

Lots of talent and mismatches equal lots of buckets most of the time. A high-scoring banger sounds like a lot of fun.
