MLB Prop Bets for Monday, May 19, 2025
Los Angeles Angels over 4.5 runs -115
I think the Angels are a bit sneaky tonight, especially for the King of the Diamond promotion tonight. J.T. Ginn, who has pitched only 13.2 innings at the major league level this season, will start for the Athletics. In those innings, he has allowed four home runs with a 4.61 ERA and a 4.52 xERA. Ginn relies heavily on sinkers, a pitch the Angels have crushed in 2025. The Angels’ expected lineup tonight has a combined .471 wOBA and .367 ISO against sinkers. To address concerns of a fluke, including last year’s numbers, the Angels have a combined .415 wOBA and .315 ISO over 650 plate appearances against sinkers. Once Ginn departs, he gives way to an Athletics’ bullpen that has struggled over the past week, posting a combined 11.25 ERA and 3.1 home runs per nine innings.
Seattle Mariners run line -0.5 through first five innings -120
I don’t believe it’s too much to ask for the Mariners to lead after five innings against the White Sox. Davis Martin is starting for the White Sox with a 3.65 ERA, but his 5.97 xERA and 4.24 FIP suggest regression is coming. He’s facing one of baseball’s better offenses right now. Both sides of the plate have at least a .330 wOBA against him; righties have performed better. At home, Martin has a .379 wOBA against righties. With the Mariners’ recent hitting, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them ahead after five innings.
Juan Soto 3+ H/R/RBI +135
This is an alternate total for Soto tonight against the Boston Red Sox. Visiting the team that pursued him this offseason, Soto faces Hunter Dobbins at Fenway Park. Since his call-up, Dobbins has struggled against lefties, posting a .458 wOBA and a 4.94 FIP, with all three home runs he’s allowed coming against them. At Fenway, lefties benefit from the short right-field wall. Dobbins relies heavily on four-seam fastballs, throwing them 47% of the time, and Soto excels against this pitch, with a .371 wOBA and a .297 ISO.
