Cleveland Browns rookie QB Shedeur Sanders has signed his contract. Though little drama is expected with rookie deals outside of top picks, it’s a hurdle worth noting.
Sanders’ slide in the draft was well-noted, and there’s no need to rehash it here, but it’s a stark reminder of how quickly the money changes. Had he been a top-10 pick, he could have made almost 10 times as much on his rookie deal. It’s being reported that his NIL deal at Colorado during his senior year was over $6.5 million alone.
Shedeur currently has the third-highest odds on DraftKings Sportsbook to be the Cleveland Browns’ starting quarterback in Week 1. Joe Flacco leads the pack at +130, new signing Kenny Pickett comes in at +160, then Sanders at +350. It’s worth noting that fourth-round pick Dillon Gabriel is at +750, odds twice as long as Sanders, a fifth-round pick. Deshaun Watson, the 11th-highest paid QB in the league who the Browns are seemingly over, comes in last at +2000.
