NBA Playoff Best Bets: Thunder vs. Nuggets Best Prop Bets for Game 7

Updated:

By: Alex Hunter

The Thunder and Nuggets will go head-to-head in a win-or-go home Game 7 in Oklahoma City on Sunday, with the winner advancing to the Western Conference Finals to face the Timberwolves. On DraftKings Sportsbook, the Thunder are favored by eight points for Game 7 and this contest carries a total of 214 points.

Below, I dive into three of my favorite player prop bets for Sunday’s Game 7 between the Thunder and the Nuggets on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Best Thunder vs. Nuggets Player Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook

Russell Westbrook O 20.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-125)

With it “becoming physically improbable” that Aaron Gordon (questionable, hamstring) plays in Sunday’s Game 7 – per ESPN’s Shams Charania – Westbrook is the top candidate to start in place of Gordon. The former MVP has made 12 starts alongside Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray with Gordon inactive this season and in those contests, Westbrook has been excellent with the first unit, averaging 15.6 points, 7.3 assists and 6.1 rebounds per game. In these tilts, the guard is averaging 33 minutes per game and a 20% usage rate.

This will be Westbrook’s sixth career Game 7 and the experienced guard should have zero issues exceeding 20.5 PRA with an expanded role Sunday.

Jalen Williams U 19.5 Points (-110)

While Gordon’s likely absence makes this an easier matchup for Williams, this 19.5-point line is still too high for the forward, especially with this being his first ever Game 7. Williams has faced the Nuggets 11 times this season and he is only averaging 17.5 PPG in those matchups. The forward has stayed under 19.5 points in eight of those 11 games and while Gordon will likely be out, Christian Braun is also a strong wing defender for the Nuggets and he should be the primary defender on Williams on Sunday.

In the nine minutes that Braun has defended Williams in this series, the forward has shot an ugly 7-for-20 from the field (30%). Williams’ struggles against Denver should continue in Game 7 and he is a terrific bet for under 19.5 points.

Luguentz Dort U 2.5 Made Three Pointers (-140)

Dort has struggled from beyond the arc in this series against the Nuggets, shooting 29% on three pointers. The wing has only surpassed 2.5 made three pointers in two of the first six games of this series and Dort’s role has been underwhelming for the Thunder recently. In Games 4 and 6, Dort only logged 19 and 21 minutes, respectively, despite both games being competitive affairs.

With Dort seeing a small workload in those tilts, Alex Caruso saw more work off the bench, which absolutely could be the case again in Game 7. Caruso is a former NBA Champion who has far more playoff experience than Dort and based on plus/minus, Caruso has been much more effective than Dort in this series. The 26-year-old hitting 3+ three pointers in Game 7 is very unlikely and Dort is a must-bet for this under.
