Rays left fielder Chandler Simpson left Saturday’s game against the Marlins after sustaining what appears to be a head or face injury in the ninth inning.
Simpson attempted to score from second base on a base hit to center field, but Derek Hill’s throw reached the plate in time to tag Simpson sliding head first.

The game was almost over at that point with the Rays leading 4-0 in the top of the ninth, but Christopher Morel did enter the game for the bottom half. Tampa Bay held on to win 4-0.
