The Sparks got off to a hot start thanks to Kelsey Plum’s 37-point performance in her Los Angeles debut. They defeated the Valkyries 84-67 on the road and will now get a marquee matchup against the Lynx at home.
Minnesota reached the WNBA Finals last year, losing to the Liberty in five games. The team returns with great talent and leadership, headlined by Napheesa Collier.
That being said, the Sparks are five-point underdogs at home, and the game total is set at 161.5 points on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Kelsey Plum under 21.5 points (-130)
It’s difficult to have a better debut performance than what Plum did on Friday. She scored 37 points on 11-of-19 shooting while racking up six assists. She played all 40 minutes against the Valkyries and looked every bit comfortable in her new threads.
Plum deserves a lot of credit, but she’s not going to have these offensive explosions every night. It’s essentially impossible unless she’s about to give fans the greatest season of all time.
She’s going to fall back to Earth on Sunday against the Lynx. Minnesota boasts one of the best defenses in the WNBA, led by the reigning Defensive Player of the Year in Collier. The Lynx had the second best defensive rating last year, and that should continue in the 2025 season.
While the team did allow 84 points in its season opener, no Wings player had more than 16 points. Arike Ogunbowale, one of the league’s best scorers, scored 16 on 4-of-12 shooting.
If the Lynx can hold Ogunbowale to a poor shooting night, they can do the same against Plum. Her line at 21.5 points is likely inflated due to the Lynx allowing 84 points and Plum scoring 37 on Friday. Neither will happen Sunday, so it’s a good time to back the under.
