Alex Caruso, Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Denver Nuggets ($4,800) ā Defense wins championships or at least that’s what they say. One thing is true, NBA players actually play defense in the playoffs. Teams scheme in seven-game series. There are matchups. It’s not regular season pickup basketball at the Y. Caruso rested most of the season. Now, it’s his time to do his thing. He’s averaging 23 minutes per game in this series with 43.8% three-point shooting.

Jalen Williams, Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Denver Nuggets ($9,600) ā Spending up at forward is contrarian. Salary should be allocated to guard and center ā SGA and Joker. A showdown slate requires a certain degree of galaxy brain. Williams is purely a pivot. It can work. The problem is the flow chart. Williams needs a career performance and SGA or Jokic to be mediocre.

Christian Braun, Denver Nuggets at Oklahoma City Thunder ($7,000) ā Some players are just winners. They were all winners coming up. NBA players dominated AAU and high school leagues. Their college resume is stout. They’re all winners, but some are killers. Braun won the NCAA championship at Kansas and the NBA Finals in his rookie season. In the must-win Game 6, Braun scored 54.3 fantasy points.

Nikola Jokic, Denver Nuggets at Oklahoma City Thunder ($13,800) ā When has Jokic been a part of a slate and not received a feature write up? When has said write up ever changed? There’s the “hammer the reader over the head with stats” approach. There’s the informal approach that respects the reader. Everyone knows Jokic is a lock. Even those living under a rock. The Jokic fade is barely even worth a discussion, even among the most hardcore contrarian NBA DFS enthusiasts.

Aaron Gordon, Denver Nuggets at Oklahoma City Thunder ($8,200) ā Blame the tariffs. There aren’t any deals at center on this slate. Gordon is just a pivot. A DFS lineup construction pick. He works if SGA goes off and several other high-end players have ceiling games. If those two things happen, then Jokic may not fit into the optimal GPP lineup at DraftKings.
