The NASCAR season is revving up and DraftKings is shifting into high gear with an assortment of fantasy NASCAR contests. Dive into the best fantasy racing picks for the NASCAR Cup Series All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro.

  1. Kyle Larson ($10,500) — Someday you will tell your kids about Yung Money. Larson is among the pantheon of greats — Jordan, Gretzky, Jeter, Barry Sanders and Kyle Larson. Larson embarrassed the field at North Wilkesboro in 2023.
  2. Joey Logano ($9,200) — There have been two All-Star races at North Wilkesboro. The first was dominated by Kyle Larson — 145 of 200 laps led. The second was Logano’s turn — 199 of 200 laps led.
  3. Denny Hamlin ($10,000) — This is what Hamlin grew up on — grassroots, short-track racing. Hamlin demonstrated his excellence at a short, flat track earlier this season. He dominated the Martinsville race (laps led).
  4. Ryan Blaney ($10,200) — It would be fitting for Blaney to finally win, but in a non-points-paying race. That’s how the racing gods like it. Blaney won’t complain. The race doesn’t pay points, but it does pay $1 million.
  5. Ross Chastain ($7,100) — Imagine how aggressive Chastain will be with $1 million on the line. The only gains or losses will be made on restarts, and Chastain has statistically been the best driver on restarts this season. If he snatches the lead, he’s not giving it back.
  6. Chase Elliott ($9,000) — The next-closest competitor to Denny Hamlin at Martinsville was Chase Elliott. Hendrick and Elliott are known for their speed at the legendary Virginia short track. They could make North Wilkesboro another one of their tracks.
  7. William Byron ($9,500) — North Wilkesboro has been a challenge for the No. 24 Hendrick Chevy. Rudy Fugle’s setup failed pre-race inspection three times in 2023. Their second All-Star attempt wasn’t much better. Despite testing at the newly repaved track, Byron struggled with the bumps in Turn 1 and Turn 4.
  8. Chris Buescher ($8,100) — The No. 17 RFK Ford is never an attractive pick. It will always be that way. He lacks star appeal. That doesn’t mean he can’t race. Passing is limited at North Wilkesboro, so Buescher could easily lead a quarter of the race and earn a top-5 finish with a good starting position.
  9. Kyle Busch ($7,800) — It’s a double-duty weekend for Rowdy. Once upon a time, Kyle Busch with extra laps was an unstoppable force. Busch is no longer that guy, and NASCAR is no longer the same.
  10. Christopher Bell ($9,800) — The No. 20 car doesn’t produce great short-track results. Repaved tracks don’t help either. Bell had a top-5 car for 75% of the race, but on the final run, he got stuck in dirty air and dropped like a rock.
  11. Bubba Wallace ($8,300) — Why not Bubba? He finished sixth last season and second in the inaugural All-Star race at North Wilkesboro. His crew chief, Charles Denike, set up a lap-leading truck in the 2024 Craftsman Truck Series race.
  12. Ryan Preece ($7,600) — It’s hard to predict who will race their way into the All-Star race. Preece has never qualified for the main event at North Wilkesboro, but he has been strong at Martinsville over the last several seasons.
  13. Todd Gilliland ($6,400) — Gilly is not locked into the race. He’ll have to race his way in through the Open. Given his performance at Martinsville earlier this season (top-10 finish), he could be a strong value pick with place-differential upside.
  14. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. ($6,000) — Two small-team drivers are All-Stars. They won at superspeedways. That success absolutely does not transfer. But how can anyone resist rostering Stenhouse after last season’s “North Wilkesboro Brawl” in the infield? Stenhouse has to stick up for his suspended pop — Wreck Spinhouse Sr.
  15. Harrison Burton ($5,500) — Here are the facts: He’s guaranteed a spot in the show (2024 Daytona win). His Rick Ware car is likely the worst in the field, and Burton might be the worst driver. But he’s cheap and likely starting in the back. There’s upside.
