It is a win-or-go-home situation for the Jets as they play host to the Stars tonight in Game 5. With the series back in Winnipeg, the Jets are -125 Moneyline favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook with the game total set at O/U 5.5 goals. Both Jake Oettinger and Connor Hellebuyck will start in opposite nets, per usual.

Below, I’ve provided my top prediction and pick for Jets vs. Stars Game 5. Let’s get into it.

Jets vs. Stars Game 5 preview, prediction

The Jets dropped both road games and now find themselves in the dreaded 3-1 series deficit. But, that’s how they roll, as they’re 0-5 on the road and 5-1 at home this postseason. With tonight’s game in Winnipeg, all signs point to an extension of the series. Not only does the offense average over two more goals per game at home but Hellebuyck has looked like his regular-season self at home, too. In six home games this postseason, he has posted a .902 save percentage and 1.99 GAA.

The return of Miro Heiskanen will certainly help the Stars find more consistency but road games have been rough for them, and they were shut out in Game 2. They’ve averaged only 1.80 goals per game on the road this postseason and four of their 11 goals this series have come via the power play. Oettinger has been slightly worse on the road, too, posting a 2.98 GAA. Still, Mikko Rantanen is on a tear and Mikael Granlund just hat-tricked in Game 4. The depth has stepped up when needed and they’re up 3-1 with a chance to advance to the Western Conference Finals. If they can carry momentum from their back-to-back wins, it may be enough to best the Presidents’ Trophy winners.

Jets vs. Stars Game 5 pick, best bet

This has been a low-scoring series aside from the third-period scoring explosion in Game 3, and that’ll likely be the case again tonight. The Stars have been a wagon all postseason but truly struggle in front of opposing fans. Winnipeg’s “whiteout” crowd is legit and has heavily contributed to its team’s playoff run thus far. While Hellebuyck’s yips can show up at any time, he is trustworthy at home and will keep the Jets in the game. On the Moneyline, 52% of the bets and 61% of the money lies with Winnipeg tonight, and I’m rolling with the public.

Pick: WPG Jets Moneyline (-125)
