Once again, there is a lot of rain in the MLB forecast tonight, though unlikely Tuesday, it doesn’t seem like we’re going to get any postponements.
With that peace of mind, let’s dive into my top MLB DFS value picks for this evening’s nine-game featured slate on DraftKings, which starts at 7:07 p.m. ET.

SP Colton Gordon, Houston Astros vs. Kansas City Royals, $7,000
Gordon isn’t a young, foundational piece in the Astros’ system. In fact, the 26-year-old is in his third go-around at Triple-A in 2025, and he sits just 14th in the team’s prospect rankings, per MLB Pipeline. Still, Gordon’s been quite solid in the minors this season, pitching to a 2.55 ERA, a 25.3% strikeout rate and a 5.4 K/BB ratio across eight starts and 42.1 innings of work. As such, he’s now set to make his big league debut on Wednesday night.
Aside from his modest price tag, matchup is key to Gordon’s viability on this slate. The Royals simply can not seem to hit left-handers this season — at all. Entering tonight’s tilt, Kansas City is slashing .234/.289/.295 within the split with a 61 wRC+ that ranks 27th in baseball. The Royals .062 ISO versus southpaws is the lowest mark in MLB. I’m not expecting 30 FPTS from Gordon, but the rookie should be able to put together a quality start in this spot.
1B Jake Burger, Texas Rangers vs. Colorado Rockies, $3,300
The fall of Jake Burger has been stupefying. Having hit a combined 63 home runs in 2023 and 2024, Burger was a consensus top 100 pick in most season-long formats in 2025. However, after an ice cold start to the season with the Rangers, Burger was demoted to Triple-A. The first baseman was re-called on Monday and he’s registered a hit in each of his first two games back. I’m banking on an even bigger performance on Wednesday.
Burger’s largest flaw is his 30.4% strikeout rate. He’s actually still been quite good when he’s been able to make contact, mustering an 87th percentile hard hit rate (50.7%) and a 73rd percentile barrel rate (12.3%) in 2025. Well, that would likely make Antonio Senzatela ($5,000) his ideal pitching matchup, as the right-hander comes into tonight’s tilt with a first percentile strikeout rate (10.3%). Honestly, Senzatela is everyone’s ideal pitching matchup. At least that’s what a 6.98 xERA and a .336 opponent expected batting average suggest.
3B/OF Addison Barger, Toronto Blue Jays vs. Tampa Bay Rays, $2,700
Barger’s total offensive profile at the moment is power and upside. Though he doesn’t yet have the plate appearances to qualify, Barger’s 76.2 mph average bat speed would put him in roughly the 95th percentile of the league. As a result, the 25-year-old currently ranks 15th average exit velocity (94.1) among players with at least 40 batted ball events to their name in 2025. He’s also produced a 98th percentile maximum exit velocity (116.5). These are not traits that all major leaguers possess.
Obviously these are all just fancy numbers until they translate into some real-life success. That’s what happened this past weekend. Barger had six hits in the Jays’ three-game sweep over the Mariners, collecting five RBI, three doubles and his first home run of the season. He’s clearly seeing the ball well at the moment and he should get another start on Wednesday against the right-handed Ryan Pepiot ($7,800). Maybe Barger’s still more projection than actual production at this point in his career, yet he’s a bet worth taking with a price tag this far below $3,000.
