The Rams’ 2025 season will be remembered for three things: being one play away from the NFC Championship, the ignominious departure of Cooper Kupp, and the emergence of a young defensive front that did the hard work of adapting to life after Aaron Donald. With Jared Verse and Braden Fiske foremost among the group, the Rams defense became the most exciting phase of their team’s strategy under new DC Chris Shula. That’s a pretty remarkable shift from the nonstop headlines a dynamic offense under Sean McVay can generate.

Kupp was phased out most of the year, and now he’s a Seahawk, and seems all too thrilled to play Los Angeles twice a year. The Rams went out and got Davante Adams to pair with the resigning of 37-year-old Matthew Stafford at quarterback. They also drafted Jarquez Hunter, an incredibly-promising running back out of Auburn who should be a fantastic backup to Kyren Williams. Puka Nacua is still seemingly unstoppable at getting open and driving the ball up the field in space. Pair an offense with the ceiling this one has on paper, pray they don’t get as decimated by offensive line injuries, and get this defense in gear for its second year under Chris Shula? A playoff berth is the least of their ambitions.
