The Houston Texans won the AFC South at 10-7 last season, then stunned the Los Angeles Chargers in the playoffs before ultimately falling to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round. While they had plenty of talent, season-ending injuries to wideouts Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell left C.J. Stroud without many weapons aside from Nico Collins. Stroud and Joe Mixon also battled poor offensive line play throughout the year, an issue which ultimately ended Houston’s campaign with eight sacks in the second-round postseason loss.
However, there’s certainly reason to be excited about the Texans heading into the new season. Houston’s defense remains championship-caliber thanks to a slew of playmakers on defense between Derek Stingley Jr., Danielle Hunter, and Will Anderson Jr. With some strong offseason additions such as wide receiver Christian Kirk, plus Jayden Higgins through the draft, the Texans look well-positioned for another division title — if not a Super Bowl run.
