When’s the last time you think we saw a coordinator exodus with as much ballyhoo as Aaron Glenn’s and Ben Johnson’s departures from the Lions’ defensive and offensive coordinator positions, respectively? I don’t have one in recent memory, except for when Belichick went from defensive coordinator to head coach. But that left neither the Giants nor the Browns holding the bag with quite the totality as the above two coaching stars did Lions HC Dan Campbell. At least he has a championship-caliber roster for new hires to play with.

The Lions didn’t do a whole lot this offseason. They signed DJ Reed after they let go of Calton Davis III—that’s a pretty even swap in the secondary. They lost Zeitler on the interior of their offensive line, but they drafted Tate Rutledge to slot right in that slot. The organization has high hopes it should be, like the Reed for Davis carousel, a bit of an even swap.

Other than that? The Lions need better injury luck this year, starting with star EDGE Adrian Hutchinson. That has to trickle down all the way through the defensive depth chart. Other than some untimely postseason turnovers from Jared Goff, you really can blame the Lions’ falling short on an injury meltdown of nuclear proportions.

Below, you’ll find the Lions’ full schedule for the upcoming 2025 season with spreads for each week provided by the DraftKings Sportsbook.
