Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl are inevitable, plain and simple. The Edmonton Oilers nearly choked away a lead in Game 2 of their NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs series against the Vegas Golden Knights, but their superstar duo came through with a game-winning goal on the rush late in overtime.

Game 3’s puck drops at 10 p.m. EST tonight. Here’s an Oilers vs. Golden Knights prediction and pick as Vegas looks to battle back in this one.

Oilers vs. Golden Knights Game 3 prediction, pick

The Oilers are a -120 favorite on home ice tonight per DraftKings Sportsbook, with +195 odds of covering the -1.5 puck line. The game total sits at a combined 6.5 goals between these two teams, and with two struggling goalies in net, the over looks like a solid choice.

The Golden Knights looked outmatched through the first five periods of this series before finally showing signs of life in the third to force overtime in Game 2. While they couldn’t escape with a win, they do have reinforcements tonight in first-line forward Pavel Dorofayev who rejoins the team after an injury. He’s a major boost for an offense which struggled even against a fairly weak Edmonton defense, so Vegas should have an easier time keeping things competitive tonight.

That’s especially true given who returns to goal for the Oilers. Following a late-game injury to goaltender Calvin Pickard in Game 2, Stuart Skinner is in line to start for Edmonton. Skinner only started two games over this playoff run before being benched, and for good reason — his .810 SV% and 6.11 GAA in his two appearances are obviously the worst marks of any goaltender in the postseason field.

However, Adin Hill hasn’t been great for the Golden Knights, either. His SV% of .874 and 3.16 GAA aren’t looking good, and against a high-powered attack, he’s very vulnerable.

All of these factors add up, making over 6.5 combined goals the top betting pick in this NHL Stanley Cup Playoff contest. There’s one alternative, too. An alternate total of over 7.5 goals holds +160 odds, which could also be worth a look for a higher payout.
