Kyle Schwarber More Than 0.5 Home Runs
Kyle Schwarber has been on fire to start the year. Aaron Judge is in the midst of a historic start to his season, but Schwarber is tied with Judge for the most home runs in baseball so far this season. Schwarber has been one of the most underrated power hitters in baseball for the past decade, and he just continues to produce every year. Tonight, he faces Ryan Pepiot and the Rays. Pepiot has an ERA of 4.23 this season, and he has had issues giving up the long ball. Pepiot has given up eight home runs in seven starts this season, which is bad news when facing Schwarber. It has been a great start to the season overall, but Schwarber is also in great form over the last week. Over his past five games, he is hitting .333 with three home runs, five runs scored and five RBIs. He should carry that momentum over to this game and have a good chance to hit another home run.
Vinny Pasquantino More Than 1.5 Total Bases
Vinny Pasquantino started the season slowly, but he has found his form over the past couple of weeks. Over his past eight games, Pasquantino is batting .324 with three home runs, six RBIs, and five runs scored. He has recorded more than 1.5 total bases in six of those eight games, which is a great sign for him to hit that number again this afternoon. Pasquantino has also been much better at home during his young career. He has a 109 tOPS+ in Kansas City, compared to 91 on the road. He has also been much better against right-handed pitching in his career, with a 108 tOPS+ against righties compared to his tOPS+ of 60 against lefties. Pasquantino should keep his positive momentum going into this game and record over 1.5 total bases.
Michael Conforto More Than 1.5 Total Bases
Michael Conforto has been cold over the past couple of weeks. However, this game against the Diamondbacks could be a good chance for him to get back on track. He has faced Brandon Pfaadt seven times in his career and has found great success. In his seven career at-bats against Pfaadt, he has three hits, and two of those have been home runs. Conforto has been much better against right-handed pitching so far this season, with a 106 tOPS+ against righties this season. He has a 108 tOPS+ in his career against right-handed pitching. Pfaadt is coming off a bad start against the Phillies, where he gave up six runs, including two home runs. Conforto should feel confident because of his prior history against Pfaadt, and Pfaadt should feel shaky after his last start, giving Conforto a great chance to get over 1.5 total bases in this game.
Corey Seager More Than 0.5 Singles
Corey Seager is off to another strong start in 2025. He is riding a five-game hitting streak into this game, and he has three RBIs in those games. He has six hits in the past five games, and five of those six hits have been singles. Corey Seager has 11 career at-bats against Boston’s Brayan Bello. In those 11 at-bats, he has four hits, three of which have been singles. That is a solid history against Bello that should give Seager confidence heading into this game. Seager has a good history of hitting singles against Bello and is on a big run of hitting singles over his past few games. Seager should be able to record another single in this day-game matchup against Boston. Seager has been a non-factor against lefties so far this season, but has been great against righties. He has a 133 tOPS+ against right-handers this season and should pick up a single in this game.
Ketel Marte Less Than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
Ketel Marte is struggling so far this season. He missed a stretch of games with an injury, and since his return, he has not been able to find his form. Marte has only recorded one RBI this season, and that came over two months ago on April 2nd. In the five games since returning from injury, he has only scored one run and has only two hits. Since April 1st, he has exactly one extra-base hit, and that was a double on April 4th. He has no extra-base hits since returning from his injury. Marte is lacking power this season and is even struggling to get any hits as of late. He also faces a very tough pitching matchup against Yamamoto tonight. Yamamoto has an ERA of 0.90 through eight starts, only giving up one run in his past five starts combined. He leads all starting pitchers in baseball in ERA and ranks fifth in strikeouts per nine innings. He should be able to handle Marte and keep him under 1.5 hits + runs + RBIs.
Spencer Schwellenbach Less Than 5.5 Strikeouts Thrown
After a strong start to the season, Spencer Schwellenbach is struggling in his past several starts. Schwellenbach gave up six runs in his last start against the Dodgers and only made it 3.2 innings, so he should feel shaky heading into this one. In his past four starts, Schwellenbach has a 7.17 ERA and has not been able to last long in any of those starts. He has recorded fewer than 5.5 strikeouts in three of those four starts. Tonight, he will have low confidence against a Reds lineup that ranks ninth in baseball in runs scored so far this season. They should be able to hit off of Schwellenbach and force him out of the game early, not giving him a chance to get more than 5.5 strikeouts.
