The PGA TOUR is set for another big two weeks of action in the heart of golf season. This week’s tournament is a Signature Event, and next week is the second major championship of the season. The tournament was called the Quail Hollow Championship last year, but it has a new sponsor and a new temporary location this week as Quail Hollow preps to host the PGA Championship. With an unknown course and some of the best players in the world in the field, it should be a great week of fantasy golf and a good week to build your bankroll with the major just around the corner. Let’s take a look at who I like in this week’s fantasy golf cash games! My top picks for cash contests this week are Justin Thomas ($10,000), Daniel Berger ($8,600) and Keith Mitchell ($7,400).

The pivot plays for tournament lineups are more aggressive, while these three picks are generally less aggressive picks with higher floors and lower risk. The picks in this post usually have much higher ownerships than the pivot plays, but they still make good plays in contests where your lineup being unique is less important. Think of cash game picks as laying back and playing a par 5 as it was designed with three shots before reaching the green, looking for a solid birdie. Tournament picks are doing driver off the deck to try to reach the green in two—more reward if it works, but much more risk as well.
Just to be sure we’re all using the same terms, “cash games” ard contests that pay out to about the top half of entries. Typically, they are in the 50/50s & Double Ups or Head-to-Head sections of the DraftKings lobby. In this format, it’s important to minimize risk and raise the floor of your entry rather than focusing too much on the ceiling.
With those ground rules set up, let’s dive deeper into my top three cash fantasy golf cash game plays for this week at the Truist Championship.
Justin Thomas ($10,000)
Thomas has been near the top of the leaderboards all season, and he broke through for his first win since the 2022 PGA Championship by defeating Andrew Novak in a playoff in his last start at the RBC Heritage.
Thomas has a versatile game that can fit a wide variety of courses, and he has contended on multiple styles of courses throughout the year. Over the last 24 rounds, he ranks fifth in the field in Total Strokes Gained and fifth in Strokes Gained: Approach.
In his 10 starts this season, JT has five top-10 finishes, and he definitely has the potential to be near the top again this week. He won in an elite field in the last Signature Event just three weeks ago.
His versatility and consistency make him a good play option in your fantasy golf cash game lineups this week. He brings a high ceiling and high floor at this salary, which is pretty easy to work around as the fourth-highest on the board.
Daniel Berger ($8,600)
Berger’s recent play has drawn plenty of attention, making him a very popular golfer in the middle of the salary spectrum. In fantasy golf cash game contests, though, he’s a play you have to consider since he has such sizzling form at this salary.
In his last eight tournaments, Berger has finished no worse than T30, including a pair of top-three finishes in those events. He finished T3 behind Novak and Thomas at the RBC Heritage at the last Signature Event, and he also posted top-25 finishes at THE PLAYERS and the Masters in addition to his runner-up finish at the WM Phoenix Open.
Over the last six months, Berger ranks third in the field in Total Strokes Gained per round and sixth in Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green. He has gained strokes in just about every area of his game and has shown the ability to go low on a variety of courses.
Berger hasn’t won on the PGA TOUR since the 2021 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, and he has battled multiple injuries and recoveries since then. His game looks on point now, though, and he brings a very high floor as a great fit for fantasy golf cash game lineups at the Philadelphia Cricket Club.
Keith Mitchell ($7,400)
Another player coming into this event with good history on similar course layouts and the potential for a good week is 33-year-old Keith Mitchell.
Before last week’s THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson, Mitchell withdrew from the event despite the possibility that he could fall out of the Aon Swing 5 and not qualify for the Truist. That’s exactly what happened, but the is still teeing it up this week after receiving a sponsor’s exemption.
In his last four events before taking a break last week, Mitchell posted four straight top-20 finishes. He finished runner-up at the Corales Puntacana Championship and followed that up with a T18 at the Zurich Classic while paired with J.T. Poston ($7,200). He also had a T18 at the Texas Children’s Hospital Houston Open and a T12 at the Valero Texas Open.
Those strong results give him 10 made cuts and six top-25 finishes in his 11 events this season. Over the last 16 rounds, Mitchell ranks seventh in the field in Total Strokes Gained and 12th in Strokes Gained: Approach.
He typically does well on courses that play a littler tougher relative to par, and this week looks to be that kind of test. He’ll rely on his tee-to-green game to stay consistent, and he could contend for the win if he can get his putter going. He has a lot of upside and a high floor as well for a play under $7,500, which is why I’m including him as the third of my fantasy golf cash game picks for the Truist.
