Tuesday night has a massive MLB slate with 12 games under the lights. The main contests lock at 7:05 p.m. ET, when games start in New York and Tampa Bay. With 24 teams or players in the pool, there are many superstars to consider building around. If you are targeting some expensive pay-up plays, you may need to balance out big salaries with some lower-priced options as well. Eight of the 12 games start before 8:00 p.m. ET, and three of the matchups start between 9:35 and 10:05. In between those two waves of games, the Tigers face the Rockies at Coors Field. The weather could cause issues in a few locations, especially New York and Denver, so be sure to check back on the forecast before first pitch.

SP Colin Rea, Chicago Cubs vs. San Francisco Giants, $7,300
Rea has been solid for the Cubs this season, earning at least 13 fantasy points in each of his last four starts. He has been ramping up to a full workload after starting the season in the bullpen, and picked up wins in back-to-back starts after stretching out to five innings against the Phillies and six innings against the Pirates.
In his 24 2/3 innings, he has a 1.46 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, and 21 strikeouts. He had 5+ strikeouts in three of his last four outings. In 11 2/3 innings at home this season, Rea has given up just one earned run with 13 strikeouts and a .182 batting average against.
On Monday, Rea and the Cubs host the Giants, who are hitting just .210 on the road with a 27.7% K% on the road, which is the second-highest road K% of any team in Major League Baseball. The Cubs won the first game of the series 9-2, and Rea will look to keep them rolling on Tuesday.
OF Zach Dezenzo, Houston Astros at Milwaukee Brewers, $2,700
Dezenzo has been getting more regular playing time in the Astros’ outfield, and the 24-year-old has brought solid production. He is hitting .260 with one home run and one stolen base in 18 games this season, but over his last 11 games, he’s hitting .314 (11-for-35) with three doubles, a home run, and a .366 wOBA.
The Astros have been giving Dezenzo playing time over Cam Smith ($3,000) after Smith’s slow start. If he continues to get work, Dezenzo brings plenty of good potential after hitting .299 with seven home runs, five stolen bases, and a .394 wOBA in his 52 games in the minor leagues last year. He’s not as well-known as Smith and doesn’t have as much long-term upside, but short-term, he brings enough potential to be a good value at under $3,000 as Houston takes on the Brewers in Milwaukee.
1B Nick Kurtz, Athletics vs. Seattle Mariners, $2,900
Kurtz has hit safely in each of his last nine games with multiple at-bats, and went 1-for-4 with a run scored and seven fantasy points on Monday night against the Mariners. Since joining the A’s, the 22-year-old top prospect is hitting .275 with a .281 wOBA and has just one extra-base hit, a triple against the Marlins on Sunday.
In the minors, Kurz showed plenty of power potential, smashing seven homers in 20 games in Triple-A, where he hit .321 with a .436 wOBA for the Las Vegas Aviators. Kurtz still has adjustments to make to translate his raw tools to the MLB level, but he has plenty of potential to be worth a play under $3,000 on Tuesday night.
He’ll be taking on Mariners starting pitcher Emerson Hancock ($7,000), who has a 6.62 ERA, 4.42 FIP, and 1.75 WHIP in his four starts this season. He is letting lefties hit .353 against him on the year, with a .397 wOBA. It should be a good spot for Kurtz to continue his production and possibly even get his first MLB long ball of his career.
