Lewis has missed the entire season since straining his hamstring in spring training. He played six games on his rehab assignment in Triple-A, hitting .174 with three runs scored and an RBI while going 4-for-23 with one double.
Last year, he hit .233 with 16 home runs and a .317 wOBA in 82 games. In 2023, he was even better when healthy, smashing 15 homers and hitting .309 with a .393 wOBA.
He has usually been very productive when healthy, and the Twins will be excited to get him into their lineup this season. Minnesota’s lineup has struggled as the team is just 15-20 despite a +1 run differential.
Fantasy Baseball Impact
Lewis has the potential to be a mixed-league contributor right away if you need help in the infield and he’s available on your league’s waiver wire. In most leagues, it just means that the team that has been holding him can now get him in their lineup, though, since he has been on the IL spot or on the bench in most leagues.
For DFS, it might be best to wait for him to get a little momentum since he struggled on his rehab assignment. He does have elite upside, though, so it’s definitely worth watching how quickly he can get up to speed to help the Twins.
