It feels inevitable that the new contender has to go through the old at some point in the NBA playoffs. That will be the case tonight as the Oklahoma City Thunder welcome the Denver Nuggets to town.
OKC will be looking to prove itself by taking down the preeminent power in the West for the last two seasons. Not only is it a matchup of the top two MVP favorites, but it may signal a changing of the guard in the Western Conference. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Nikola Jokic will have lots of eyes on them, but nobody is more important to this series than Jalen Williams.
The 24-year-old just made his first All-Star team and is looking to prove himself as a second option on a contending team. He certainly looked the part with 20+ points in each first-round game, but Denver is a different beast than Memphis. Tonight goes a long way towards proving his viability.
The Thunder enter as 10.5-point home favorites at -485 on the moneyline on DraftKings Sportsbook. The total is set at 228.5. Let’s take a look at Williams’ best bets for tonight.

Jalen Williams 3+ Threes Made (+210)
Aside from one game in which Williams got injured, Williams played three games against Denver in the regular season. He knocked down a total of eight three-pointers in those contests.
His 6-for-21 mark in the first round was well below his career average of 38.2% from deep. Jalen is overdue for a hot shooting night, which makes his first-round scoring marks even more impressive. It should be a high-scoring contest to begin with. On top of that, the Thunder have a massive rest advantage.
Denver will have to sell out to stop SGA from beating them. That’ll lead to a lot of shots from Williams, and hopefully more than a few makes.
