Stephen Curry Best Prop Bets for Warriors vs. Rockets Game 7

Stephen Curry Best Prop Bets for Warriors vs. Rockets Game 7

The Rockets and Warriors will face off in Game 7 tonight in what hopefully makes up for last night’s Game 7 blowout between the Nuggets and Clippers. After the Warriors took a commanding 3-1 series lead, Houston climbed back to even the series and is looking to become the 14th team in NBA history to overcome a 3-1 deficit.

This series has been a fascinating clash of eras. Golden State looked to keep its championship window open around Stephen Curry by trading for Jimmy Butler at the deadline. In contrast, Houston has built out its youthful roster and are just now flipping into contention. Most of its core members are getting their first dose of playoff action, but they have stepped up in this high-stakes environment.

The Rockets enter this Game 7 matchup as 2.5-point favorites with -135 odds on the moneyline on DraftKings Sportsbook. The game total is set at 205.5 points.

With the stage set, here are my favorite Curry prop bets for Game 7.

Best Stephen Curry Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook

Stephen Curry’s props are listed at over/under 26.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 4.5 made three-pointers and 37.5 combined points, rebounds and assists.

Stephen Curry Over 5.5 Assists (+100)

All eyes are sure to be on Curry in this Game 7 matchup. Curry has risen to the moment in these settings before, as he is one of two players in NBA history to have scored 50 points in a Game 7. In his five career Game 7s, Curry is averaging 32.6 points, 7.0 assists and 6.4 rebounds per game.

The clear issue with this Warriors team has been the supporting cast around their stars. Curry and Butler must generate just about everything for Golden State’s offense. It’s a tall ask at this stage of their careers. Houston is well aware of this and has done a nice job chasing Curry around during his seemingly endless off-ball movement. This will be one of the Rockets’ priorities again tonight, so Curry will likely see multiple bodies thrown his direction throughout. Houston will be willing to live and die with shots from players like Moses Moody and Brandin Podziemski if it means getting the ball out of Curry’s hands.

Curry is averaging 24.2 points, 5.5 assists and 5.2 rebounds per game in this series. He tallied nine assists in two games and went over 5.5 assists in three games. Golden State has leaned on Curry’s off-ball motion as a counter to the gravity he commands on offense. But Houston has had success sticking with him off-ball at a much better rate than most teams. Look for Golden State to leverage the attention he commands by making Curry more of a playmaker in Game 7.

The 11-time All-Star recorded over 5.5 assists in 42 of the 70 games in the regular season and 90 of his 153 playoff appearances. It is going to take a heroic effort from the Warriors’ star tonight, and I expect him to be involved as a playmaker throughout.

Stephen Curry to Record the Most Made Three-Pointers (-140)

While Curry has developed into a much more complete player than he sometimes gets credit for, he’s still the best three-point shooter of all time. He’ll lean on the foundation of his game in Game 7 against the Rockets. Curry led the NBA with 4.4 made three-pointers per game this season, marking the 10th season that this has been the case. He connected on 39.7% of his three-point attempts this season, slightly below his career average of 42.3% from beyond the three-point arc.

The 37-year-old is shooting 39.1% from beyond the three-point line in this series. He is attempting 10.4 perimeter shots per game and has made an NBA-best 25 three-pointers thus far in the postseason.

Curry’s standard three-point prop is set at 4.5 for this matchup, with the over favored at -135 odds. Fred VanVleet is the only other player in this matchup with a three-point prop set above 1.5. VanVleet’s three-point prop is set at 3.5 with the under favored at -160 odds. VanVleet is the biggest threat to beat Curry in this three-point race, with 24 made three-pointers in this series. However, he’s shooing 18-for-27 (66.7%) over the last three games, which is unsustainable.

Curry will almost certainly lead this game in three-point attempts and could end up with the most made three-pointers even if he doesn’t reach his 4.5 prop. Even amid the increased defensive attention, be confident that Golden State will generate open looks for its star. The -140 odds on DraftKings Sportsbook are solid value based on the context of this game. It’s my preferred way of getting in on Curry’s three-point action for this upcoming Game 7 thriller.
