To the surprise of absolutely no one, the 22-10 Dodgers are one of baseball’s best teams. The defending champs have been carried by the play of Shohei Ohtani, last season’s National League MVP. Tonight, Los Angeles will take on their old rivals, the Braves, in a potential postseason preview.
The Dodgers enter as slight underdogs (-102) vs. Atlanta on Saturday, with the over/under set at 8.5 runs. Before the start of tonight’s matchup, here’s my favorite Shohei Ohtani player prop bet on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Ohtani has a real claim as the best player on Earth, and it’s easy to see why. In 2024, the Japanese slugger became the first-ever member of the 50-homers, 50-steals club. While this season hasn’t been quite as good for Showtime, he’s still putting up terrific numbers. Through 30 games, the four-time All-Star has slashed .277/.381/.538 while driving in seven home runs and ten RBIs.
What makes Ohtani so dangerous on offense is his all-around skill. Los Angeles’ face of the franchise is a threat to go yard, but he’s also content to slap a single or take a walk. It’s no surprise that manager Dave Roberts prefers to have the three-time MVP as Los Angeles’ leadoff hitter. Batting in front of a loaded Dodgers lineup, Ohtani currently leads Major League Baseball with 32 runs scored.
Tonight, the Braves will send Spencer Schwellenbach to the mound. It’s been a stellar 2025 campaign for the right-hander (2.87 ERA, 0.98 WHIP). However, the 24-year-old has coughed up 11 runs over his last 17.2 innings pitched (5.60 ERA).
Schwellenbach, while talented, is clearly struggling. That’s bad news going into a date with the Dodgers, baseball’s fourth-highest scoring offense. Over his last ten games vs. the Braves, Ohtani has scored nine runs. Even at a steep price, all signs are pointing to a busy day on the base paths for Los Angeles.
