The UFC is back in Iowa, and former Flyweight Champion No. 5 Deiveson Figueiredo faces No. 4 Cory Sandhagen in the Main Event. No. 13 Reinier de Ridder is fighting rising star Bo Nickal in a big Middleweight bout in the co-main Event.
The Prelims start at 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN+, with the Main Card beginning at 10:00 p.m. ET. Here are my two best bets for UFC Fight Night: Sandhagen vs. Figueiredo.
Bo Nickal to Win by KO/TKO/DQ or Submission (+100)
Throughout his short career, Nickal has been aggressive and has shown he can finish the fight on the feet or the ground. Although his last fight ended via decision, I think this is a perfect opportunity for Nickal to stay undefeated and do so in spectacular fashion.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, you can get Nickal at +100 to beat Reiner de Ridder by KO/TKO/DQ. Nickal is 7-0 with six finishes in his career. Even though Nickal is known for wrestling, he has the edge in the striking battle. Nickal lands significant strikes at a 63 percent rate, 57 percent better than de Ridder. If Nickal can be the aggressor in this bout, he will have a chance to finish the fight early.
Montel Jackson to Win by KO/TKO/DQ (+350)
Jackson has won five straight fights in the UFC, and his last two victories have come by knockout. He is taking on Daniel Marcos, who has an undefeated record of 17-0. However, on paper, Jackson has a ton of advantages over Marcos. Jackson possesses a six-inch larger reach (75″ vs. 69″) while being three inches taller (5’10” vs. 5’7″).
In this matchup, Jackson is a -225 favorite to win this bout on DraftKings Sportsbook. But the better value is getting Jackson at +350 to win by knockout because of his physical advantages and recent performances. Jackson is 14-2 with eight knockouts in his MMA career, and he seems primed to hand Marcos his first defeat.
