MLB Prop Bets for Friday, May 2, 2025
New York Yankees team total bases over 13.5 -115
The Yankees face Ryan Pepiot of the Rays tonight, leading me to favor the over on the Yankees’ team total bases. Pepiot has allowed many extra-base hits, surrendering 18, including eight home runs, in six starts. The Yankees, a power-hitting team, lead the league with a slugging percentage (SLG) of .478. Pepiot throws four-seam fastballs 39% of the time, and the Yankees’ expected lineup tonight has an isolated power (ISO) of .262, making them well-suited to capitalize on his pitching. Therefore, I’m confident in taking the over on the Yankees’ team total bases of 13.5.

Luis Arraez over 0.5 runs scored +115
I initially considered betting on Luis Arraez to exceed 1.5 hits, runs, or RBIs, but I was surprised to see the odds priced at -180. Instead, I pivoted to betting on Arraez to score a run tonight against the Pirates. Mitch Keller, Pittsburgh’s starting pitcher, struggles against left-handed batters, posting a .350 weighted on-base average (wOBA) against them this season. Lefties have accounted for 12 of the 16 runs he’s allowed. Arraez, a left-handed batter, ranks fourth on the Padres with 10 runs scored. Given Keller’s struggles against left-handed hitters, I’m confident in betting on Arraez to score a run tonight.
San Francisco Giants over 4.5 runs -125
The Giants will be taking on the Rockies and starter Antonio Senzatela. It’s been a rough go for the Rockies starter, who has a bloated 5.22 ERA but an even worse 7.55 xERA and a 5.89 FIP. After somehow allowing zero runs through his first two starts, Senzatela has allowed 17 in his last 22.2 innings. The Giants have a great opportunity to pile onto those runs allowed in San Francisco. Senzatela has an overall .436 wOBA in 2025 and has an extremely high 2.1 HR/9.
