The UFC will host another Fight Night on the road for back-to-back weeks. This is the first UFC event taking place in Iowa since 2000. Former UFC Flyweight Champion No. 5 Deiveson Figueiredo faces No. 4 Cory Sandhagen in a highly anticipated 135-pound contest. One of the most popular rising superstars in the sport, Bo Nickal, will take on No. 13 Reinier de Ridder in a co-main event middleweight bout.
UFC Bantamweight Champion, Merab Dvalishvili, has yet to face Figueiredo or Sandhagen. The winner in this fight could put themselves in a great position to seize gold in the future. Sandhagen lost to Petr Yan in his first title shot and has gone 3-1 since. This is Sandhagen’s first fight since he lost to Umar Nurmagomedov in August 2024.
Figueiredo is 37 years old and is also coming off a loss. In his MMA career, he has never suffered two defeats in a row. The former two-time champion is a +390 underdog, while Sandhagen is the odds-on favorite at -520.
Although Nickal’s matchup against de Ridder is tough stylistically, he is still a -355 favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook. De Riddler is 19-2 in his MMA career with 17 finishes and is a former two-division ONE Championship title holder. Since entering the UFC, de Ridder has looked impressive, submitting Gerald Meerschaert and Kevin Holland.
Yes, Paul Craig was a formidable veteran opponent for Nickal. But his game wasn’t as well-rounded. De Ridder has averaged over six takedowns per 15 minutes in the UFC and will test the former three-time NCAA Division 1 National Champion. Nickal is coming off his first career victory by decision after having six finishes in his first six fights. Which rising star will take the next step in their career?
The Prelims begin at 7:00 p.m. ET, with the Main Card starting at 10:00 p.m. ET on ESPN+ and ESPN2. Check out the entire 12-fight card below.
