Chad Patrick, Milwaukee Brewers at Chicago White Sox, $8,000 – Patrick’s career got off to an inauspicious start at Yankee Stadium back on Opening Weekend, but the right-hander has been virtually unhittable since then. In fact, as a starter in 2025, Patrick owns a 1.82 ERA and a 3.65 FIP, as he’s held opposing batters to a modest .299 wOBA. Not too shabby for a 26-year-old rookie. There’s nothing overpowering or flashy about Patrick’s game, but you can not argue with the recent results. He’ll look to keep the good times rolling on Thursday afternoon against the lowly White Sox, who enter play with a league-worst .211 average and a 77 wRC+. Spolier: They aren’t very good.
INFIELD

Tyler Soderstrom, Athletics at Texas Rangers, $4,900 – Alright. It’s time for some Tyler Mahle ($8,500) regression. The 30-year-old has only allowed four earned runs across 31.2 innings this season, yet Mahle’s 4.34 SIERA is way more indicative of his talent level than his 1.14 ERA. The fact of the matter is that Mahle’s .217 BABIP and 87.1% strand rate are unsustainable — especially for a pitcher with a pretty pedestrian 21.3% strikeout rate. Soderstrom owns a .321 ISO and a 177 wRC+ off RHPs in 2025. Needless to say, his fantasy ceiling is quite high.

Edouard Julien, Minnesota Twins at Cleveland Guardians, $3,100 – Julien is far from the perfect asset, but the young middle infielder does possess some pop in his bat. Julien might only be hitting .200 at the beginning of May, but he does own a 72nd percentile barrel rate (12.1%) and a 64th percentile expected slugging (.453). He’s also dirt cheap and he’s recently been hitting leadoff for the Twins against RHPs. Ben Lively ($6,000) is right-handed. On top of that, Ben Lively is allowing opposing LHBs to slash .302/.403/.585 with a massive .427 wOBA. Trevor Larnach ($3,800) is another name to keep an eye on in this matchup.
OUTFIELD

Jackson Chourio, Milwaukee Brewers at Chicago White Sox, $5,400 – Chourio’s overall numbers in 2025 aren’t amazing, yet his deficiencies aren’t exactly damning in a DFS capacity. Batting value metrics love a good OBP and Chourio just isn’t walking so far this season, with only a 1.5% walk rate in 137 plate appearances. Still, when he is hitting the ball, he’s doing damage. Chourio’s expected wOBA on batted ball events (.385) is nearly identical to where it sat in his breakout rookie campaign and his ISO is way up in his sophomore season (.233). Expect him to have a nice performance on Thursday versus Sean Burke ($5,000), as the RHP owns a 7.89 xERA and is surrendering 2.33 opponent home runs per nine.

Kevin Pillar, Texas Rangers vs. Athletics, $3,000 – The Rangers employ two very interesting value options on this slate, yet both are at least 35-years-old, so each is currently ailing and is listed as day-to-day. Time is undefeated, right? Still, it’s worth keeping an eye on how this lineup shakes out against Jeffrey Springs ($7,100). When available, Pillar’s recently hit leadoff against LHPs, while Kyle Higashioka ($2,500) hit second versus a southpaw on Monday and third against another one on Tuesday. Those are some premium lineup slots for two assets priced at or well-below $3,000. It’s notable that Springs has been bad in 2025, too. In his five starts in April, the lefty struggled to a 7.66 and conceded 2.02 opponent home runs per nine. Yikes.
